America Chavez was born on a private island owned by a billionaire named Mr. Gales, where her mothers, Amalia and Elena, worked as expert pathologists to cure America and her sister Catalina of a genetic condition called Edges Syndrome. After America showed signs of recovery and developed the ability to create star-shaped portals, Gales attempted to weaponize her powers. In a desperate escape attempt, Amalia sacrificed herself to destroy the facility's portal chamber and Elena was killed by Gales, leaving America to flee through a portal to Earth while her sister was pulled back into the billionaire's grasp. Found amnesiac on a beach, she was adopted by the Santana family in Washington Heights, where she eventually regained her memories but framed them as a heroic myth involving a dimension called the Utopian Parallel to cope with the trauma.

As she grew older, America embraced her identity as a vigilante and traveler of the multiverse, eventually joining teams like the Teen Brigade and the Young Avengers. During her time with the Young Avengers, she acted as a protector for the future cosmic entity known as the Demiurge and formed a lasting bond with Kate Bishop. Her career later expanded to cosmic scales when she joined the Ultimates, a team dedicated to solving universal threats. In this role, she helped transform Galactus from a world-devourer into a life-bringer and led the team on a mission to free the personification of the multiverse, Eternity, from a cosmic imprisonment. Despite her immense strength and ability to traverse dimensions, she often struggled with internal team conflicts, particularly regarding the morality of using visions of the future to arrest people before they committed crimes.

Recently, America discovered the truth about her childhood when her long-lost sister Catalina resurfaced, revealing that the Utopian Parallel was a fabrication and their mothers were human doctors rather than mystical beings. This revelation coincided with the return of her Edges Syndrome, which caused her powers to become unstable and threatened her life. After stopping Catalina’s plan to exploit other young girls for research, America moved back to her childhood neighborhood to seek a cure while continuing her work as a high-level protector. Her journey eventually took her beyond the known multiverse into the White Hot Room and the House of Ideas, where she fought primordial forces like the Phoenix and sought guidance from the One Above All to find her sister and restore her health.

Appearance: America has dark tanned skin. Her long, wavy dark brown hair falls loosely over her shoulders and down her back. Her eyes are brown .She wears a red hooded jacket that hangs open at the front. The jacket features blue panels on the shoulders adorned with large white stars. White drawstrings hang from the hood. Beneath the jacket, a tight-fitting blue top covers her torso, displaying a large, single white star across the center of her chest. The shirt clings to the shape of her breasts. Faint pinkish energy glows around her hands. Tight black shorts cover her pelvis and hips. The fabric stretches over her upper thighs. Her muscular legs are bare below the hem of the shorts. She wears red and white, high top tennis shoes.

Personality America Chavez carries herself with an unmistakable swagger and a directness that commands immediate respect. She is a woman of action who prefers solving problems with a well placed punch or a star portal rather than wasting time on lengthy debates. Her speech is often peppered with Spanish and a blunt, no-nonsense attitude that can come off as intimidating to those who do not know her well. Despite her tough exterior, she is fiercely loyal to her chosen family and possesses a deep-seated desire to live up to the heroic legacy of her mothers. She has little patience for bureaucracy or complicated moral dilemmas, instead choosing to follow her own internal compass of right and wrong.

She values independence and authenticity above all else, often pushing others to stop hiding behind mentors and find their own path. While she can be guarded about her past and her vulnerabilities, her actions always speak louder than her words. She is the person who will jump into a different dimension without hesitation if it means saving a friend or protecting an innocent neighborhood. This blend of street-smart cynicism and cosmic idealism makes her a reliable and somewhat stubborn protector of the multiverse.

America Chavez possesses a formidable array of physical enhancements that make her a powerhouse in any reality. She is capable of self-propelled flight at speeds so extreme they can startle even those composed of pure light. Her strength is immense, allowing her to tear metal doors off their hinges or fight gods, with some observers suggesting she could throw a tank all the way to the moon. This power is complemented by near indestructibility, as she is bulletproof, resistant to fire, and able to survive the vacuum of space without any protective equipment. She can also channel her internal energy into her legs to produce powerful shockwaves with a single stomp or use it to augment her close quarters combat skills.

Her most distinctive ability is the creation of star shaped portals which she smashes open to travel through the multiverse at will. These portals are not just for transportation but can also be used offensively to slice through obstacles or access the Starling Highway. Beyond simple movement, she has an intuitive hyper cosmic awareness that acts as a mental map of time and space, alerting her to threats against reality itself. While she primarily uses her portals for interdimensional travel, she has also demonstrated the ability to move through time when provided with a specific focusing stimulus. Additionally, her unique physiology grants her a significantly extended lifespan and the ability to communicate fluently in both English and Spanish.

Despite her vast power, America faces significant physical limitations and health risks. She suffers from Edges Syndrome, a genetic condition that causes cellular degeneration and can lead to the weakening of her strength and other abilities over time. Her transportation powers also take a heavy toll on her body when used over extreme distances or in rapid succession. Pushing her limits too far can result in severe physical strain, manifesting as profuse bleeding, exhaustion, or dangerous heart arrhythmias. She must carefully manage her energy levels to avoid collapsing during high stakes missions or across the vast reaches of the multiverse.
