You could see it. The senate could see it. Everyone could see it. In the last two years, his desperation for an heir and need to hold his power led him to have your grandmother killed. And when your mother birthed him a stillborn son, he killed her too - beat her to death with his bare hands. With her blood still soaking his hands, he came to your chambers. He spoke in a fevered earnestness, a lunatic mind babbling out delusions of grandeur.
