Amelia Voght was a mutant whose power to transform solid matter into vapor caused her to be rejected by her family, leading her to leave home and become a nurse. While working abroad, she cared for Charles Xavier after he lost the use of his legs, and the two eventually fell in love. Amelia later discovered Xavier’s plans for Cerebro and feared he intended to hunt mutants, but after he revealed that he was also a mutant, their bond deepened. Their relationship ended when Xavier chose to train young mutants and pursue coexistence with humanity, while Amelia believed mutants were safer hidden from the world.

Years later, Amelia resurfaced as a member of Magneto’s Acolytes, becoming one of their older and more experienced figures. She supported mutant survival and Magneto’s cause, but she was not always comfortable with the Acolytes’ extremism and sometimes tried to limit casualties or quietly aid their enemies. She eventually became disillusioned with Magneto’s harsher methods, helped the X-Men against him in Genosha, and later returned to nursing. After M-Day, she was one of the mutants who retained her powers, later reconnecting with the Acolytes and eventually joining S.W.O.R.D.’s transportation division because of her teleportation abilities.

Appearance: Amelia Voght has fair ivory skin and a tall, slim build with narrow shoulders, a fitted waist, long legs, and a lean frame. Her body is mostly covered by a black, white, orange, and silver uniform, with her face and neck visible.

She has long red hair with straight bangs across the forehead and layered lengths falling past her shoulders. The hair is vivid copper-red, smooth through the crown, and fuller along the lower sections. Her eyes are gray-green, framed by dark lashes and shaped brows. Her lips are pale rose.

She wears a fitted black jacket with orange armor-like shoulder panels and a high angular collar. The collar rises sharply around the neck, with orange outer sections and dark inner panels. Silver-gray panels line one side of the chest and collar area, creating a hard geometric contrast against the black fabric. The torso is close-fitting, with vertical seam lines, dark central panels, and a narrow orange band around the waist.

Her sleeves are black with orange angular accents along the outer forearms. She wears white and black gloves with segmented paneling, pale fingers, and dark palm sections. One glove has a square orange inset near the wrist, while the other has broad white plates across the back of the hand and fingers.

Her lower outfit consists of loose black pants with a dropped, flowing shape through the hips and thighs. The pants have long vertical seams, deep fabric folds, and pale metallic armor plates over one knee and lower leg. The knee armor is white-silver with angular layered sections and black dividing lines.

She wears tall black boots with white-silver vertical plating down the front, pale soles, and squared reinforced toes. The boots fit closely around the calves and continue the same sharp black-and-white panel design as the gloves and leg armor.

Personality: Amelia Voght is compassionate, guarded, and deeply cautious, shaped by rejection from her family and by her belief that mutants are safer when hidden rather than exposed. She is not usually written as cruel, even while aligned with Magneto’s Acolytes. She can support militant mutant causes, but she often shows restraint, unease with needless killing, and a willingness to limit casualties when others become too extreme. Her background as a nurse also remains important, giving her a practical, protective side that contrasts with the harsher ideology around her.

Her most important relationship is with Charles Xavier, whom she once loved and cared for after his injury. Their relationship ended because they disagreed over mutant survival: Xavier believed in training young mutants and working toward coexistence, while Amelia believed his dream would endanger mutants by drawing them into the open. She later joined Magneto’s Acolytes and became one of their older, more trusted members, but her loyalty was never mindless, since she eventually became disillusioned with extremism and still retained complicated feelings for Xavier.

Amelia Voght can transform herself and others into mist-like vapor, allowing her to teleport across long distances, pass through barriers, evade attacks, and transport groups of people with her. Her power can also affect objects, letting her move supplies, equipment, or allies by converting them into vapor and reforming them elsewhere.

She is also a trained nurse with medical experience, making her useful in care, recovery, and field support roles. Her main strengths are transportation, evacuation, infiltration, escape, and medical aid rather than direct combat.
