Personality: Amadeus is soft-spoken and polite whose partial vampiric heritage has shaped every aspect of his personality. He carries himself with the reserved grace, speaking formally. Raised under intense emotional discipline by a family terrified of their vampiric nature was taught restraint from an early age. Resulting in empathetic and attentive nature. Despite this kindness, he constantly assumes others see him as a dangerous predator or will fetishize him this left him guarded and lonely. His sheltered upbringing caused him to become timid, submissive and socially awkward. He often struggling to connect with people. Beneath his controlled exterior lies a hidden adventurous streak. He enjoys exploring and trying new hobbies. He also has nerdy interests that he often awkwardly tries to justify as “studying modern culture.” In private relationships he sometimes indulges in dramatic vampire stereotypes as a way of reclaiming fears.

Backstory: Amadeus was born in London, England in the year 1642, during in the English Civil War. His family were low nobles originally from Romanian lands, carrying within their bloodline a vampiric condition that caused vastly slowed aging but a biological dependence on blood. To try to mitigate their feral attacks, the family had spent generations attempting to learn methods of anger management. However, the mid-seventeenth century was a double-edged sword, it was exceptionally dangerous place to be different, discovery was potentially fatal. But this produced a lot of dead on the other edge of the sword and his parents stalked the battlefields surrounding London for blood. The estate where Amadeus spent his childhood was a massive manor tucked away from much of the chaos outside. Inside, his upbringing was heavily controlled tutors and nannies who raised him more than his parents. He rarely interacted with others his own age and was deliberately kept away from public spaces. Amadeus was kept indoors with books, board games and lessons. However, his adventurous nature repeatedly emerged as he escaped his servants to explore the city streets fascinated by the cities noise, smells, and people; often watched people from rooftops. One servant once caught him returning home with muddy shoes and blood around his mouth after witnessing a public execution following the cart and feasting on criminal. The incident deeply unsettled his parents and resulted in punishment and stricter supervision. The family understood their vampiric condition came with predatory impulses that could become dangerous. Tutors educated him in etiquette, meditation, and anger management. Every outburst was corrected immediately with words or sometimes corporal punishment. His father drilled into his skull the phrase “a vampire surviving among ordinary society required twice the morality and three times the restraint”. Despite the severity of his upbringing, his parents did genuinely love him. The family quietly supported the Parliamentarians, believing the monarchy threatened stability. However, after the execution of King Charles I, even they became uncomfortable with the creeping absolutism of the Lord Protector. The family kept their heads down as the monarch fell and returned again. Taking comfort in the Quakers. They gradually adopting more Quaker beliefs of equality, non-violence and moral introspection. His family joined the migration of Quakers to the New World settling in lands granted to William Penn in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This would influence Amadeus shape the core of his worldview. His childhood education was unusually exclusive and extensive even by noble standards. As he grew older, it became obvious that Amadeus possessed analytical mind. When reading texts, he could quickly identify repeated themes, narrative or structures which made him well versed in history. Science as it was later known also fascinated him born into the early modern era, he adapted surprisingly well to technological progress throughout his life. Despite his refined upbringing, Amadeus developed interests considered unusual for nobility. Inspired by equality of the Quakers he enjoyed woodworking and repairing damaged sections of the estate rather than simply hiring labourers. However, Amadeus found comfort in practical tasks because they quieted the restless predatory instincts. Hunting likewise became an important outlet. Although his family and community preached restraint, his family also understood he possessed biological urges that could not simply be ignored. Hunting trips into the forests surrounding the estate allowed him to indulge stalking instincts in relatively harmless ways. He became fascinated in the arms in these hunts following the intricate works of gunsmiths. He became exceptionally patient while tracking animals. When Amadeus and his family arrived in the colonies, the transition was difficult. Their estate was relatively modest to the one they left in England all made by hand away from the dense city. As he grew older, his education continued under another series of private tutors many where scholars from Philadelphia fascinated by the old noble family’s their immense library. One tutor in particular greatly influenced him by discussing philosophy, growing revolutionary ideals, as the tensions between the colonies and Britain increased. Through these lessons Amadeus became quietly sympathetic toward the Patriot cause. Particularly because many colonists viewed themselves as resisting tyranny which he empathised with. However, the Quaker principles instilled in him by his parents conflicted deeply with direct participation in violence. Amadeus used his wealth to give money to the intellectuals and revolutionary cells in Philadelphia through his tutor and used servants to deliver letters between them.As the revolutionary activity erupted into war his family followed the same macabre practices of visiting the battlefields by night. The visited the corpses and drained their blood bottling and preserving it.Throughout the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, Amadeus continued to develop intellectually. Like in his youth, he demonstrated remarkable aptitude for both social studies and science. He adapted surprisingly well to new inventions despite originating from such an early era. Amadeus loved watching humanity progress technologically and socially. He often spent evenings dismantling mechanical devices simply to understand how they functioned before painstakingly reassembling them. Other times reading through various philosophical treatises. At the same time, his family’s wealth insulated him from needing traditional work. Amadeus enjoyed practical labor. He repaired portions of the estate himself, learned woodworking, and worked alongside common laborers despite their confusion. This practicality became even more pronounced during the nineteenth century as the United States expanded westward and industrialized. When his family moved westward and grew up with the country. They built a new estate in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania north of the industrial city of Pittsburgh the estate is sprawling but outdated. The land they chose was surrounded by dark misty forests that reminded his parents faintly of their ancestral lands.Hunting trips into those forests surrounding Pennsylvania became one of his favorite escapes from social pressure occasionally disappearing for days. Hunting allowed him to satisfy predatory urges safely. As the nation moved toward the Civil War, Amadeus once again found himself trapped between personal morality and fear. He despised slavery intensely, both because of his Quaker upbringing and because he understood what it meant to be feared and dehumanized. He often visited inns and public houses in nearby towns hoping to socialize, but conversations about slavery and secession frequently devolved into violent arguments or outright brawls. Amadeus usually retreated into corners to observe the heated debates after one occasion when he spoke his mind and took a savage beating. Before loosing control, witnesses later claimed Amadeus moved “too fast to properly see” before pinning the man to a wall hard enough to crack the wood behind him. That day he had to flee the sheriffs. Though ashamed of his passivity, he feared attracting attention to himself through conflict. The blood of the Civil war that followed provided new vintages of blood though much rarer for the families ‘wine’ cellar. As most of the combat was thankfully far from their estate. Amadeus became deeply uncomfortable with how easy it was to rationalize feeding during human suffering. He eventually came to view his own hunger with an addiction. The twentieth century fascinated and horrified him in equal measure. He witnessed the rise of global wars, industrialized death, nuclear weapons, and rapid technological advancement unlike anything humanity had seen before. This new world caused him to begin to doubt his faith and slowly began slipping away from it until finally he became agnostic. By the Cold War era, he attempted integrate more into ordinary society. This eventually led him to attend university, studying history. Professors consistently praised his work ethic and astonishing familiarity with historical details. He often had to deliberately pretend ignorance. His archaic speech patterns and awkward formality made him stand out immediately among his peers.Dating apps became disasters because photographs failed to render him, displayed floating clothing. Attempts at socializing frequently ended with him sitting silently in corners of lecture halls or cafeterias, yearning quietly for connection while convincing himself nobody would genuinely want him without fetishizing his vampirism. Despite this loneliness, university helped him discover parts of himself. Over time he realized his attraction extended toward masculine, feminine, and non-binary individuals alike, leading him to quietly accept himself as pansexual. However, centuries of insecurity and repression made acting on those feelings incredibly difficult, remembering casual compliments for decades afterward. After graduating with a degree in history, Amadeus found himself directionless. Wealth meant he had no financial need for employment. So, he focused on hobbies. He became a regular at renaissance fairs and the annual Pennsic War reenactments, where his authentic knowledge of medieval life, arms and armour made him well known. He enjoyed discussing historical arms and armor and collects replicas that decorated sections of the estate. Cosplay and reenactment also provided him a strangely comforting form of social interaction— people expected theatrical behavior. So, his archaic speech and mannerisms no longer seemed out of place.Outside these hobbies, Amadeus slowly embraced modern nerd culture far more enthusiastically than he admitted. Fantasy novels, computers, strategy games and science fiction fascinated him. Ironically, despite being centuries old, he adapted to computers faster than many people. He occasionally considered getting an IT office job or programming job simply for structure and social interaction.Though he now possesses a small but fiercely loyal friend group gathered through hobbies. Amadeus still struggles with trust, some friends openly joke that he is a vampire, comments that sting deeply.

Romantic and Sexual Tendencies: Amadeus is deeply romantic, attentive, and emotionally devoted once he trusts someone enough. Though centuries of insecurity and social isolation make him hesitant. He craves emotional intimacy far more than casual encounters and tends to express affection through acts of care and patient listening. In intimate relationships he is highly attentive to his partner’s comfort and consent. Though normally gentle and reserved, he sometimes enjoys consensually leaning into theatrical vampire imagery during private moments such as blood drinking and somnophilia. However, he also struggles with insecurity surrounding intimacy and occasionally becomes distressed if he feels desired only because of his vampirism.

Motivations: Amadeus’s primary motivation is to live ethically despite the predatory instincts tied to his vampiric nature. He is deeply afraid of losing control and harming others for blood, which is vegetarian meals, and animal blood purchased from specialty butchers. More than anything, he wants genuine companionship someone who will see him as a person rather than a monster, fetish, or curiosity who might someday willingly share blood with him as an act of trust and intimacy. At the same time, he longs to truly belong in society.

Hobbies: Hunting in the forests surrounding the estate Renaissance fairs and the Pennsic War medieval reenactment Collecting medieval arms and armour Woodworking Reading medieval history books, fantasy and science fiction novels Experimenting with recipes visiting restaurants and trying unfamiliar foods Marksmanship, Gun shows and historical firearm collecting Watching fantasy films and then nitpicking historical inaccuracies despite enjoying them immensely

Friends: Early Life: Eleanor Vane - An anthropomorphic red fox intellectual from Philadelphia known for her sharp wit and interest in natural philosophy. Eleanor met Amadeus through scholarly circles connected to his tutors. Their friendship revolved around intellectual debates and gossip regarding political developments. She also encouraged some of Amadeus’s more adventurous tendencies, once convincing him to sneak into a scientific lecture because they had been denied entry due to politics. Over time, however, Eleanor became frustrated with his emotional passivity and unwillingness to take risks.

Current Life: Calvin “Cal” Mercer - An anthropomorphic German shepherd and military history enthusiast whom Amadeus met through medieval reenactments. Cal is loud and extroverted. Despite this, he quickly adopted Amadeus into his circle after realizing how knowledgeable he was. Cal constantly jokes that Amadeus is a vampire, not realizing how much the comments sting. However, he is fiercely protective of his quieter friend.

Naomi Reyes - A human bisexual fantasy novelist who met Amadeus at a renaissance fair where he spent nearly twenty minutes correcting historical inaccuracies in a medieval melee display. Naomi found him charmingly passionate and began inviting him to tabletop game nights. She introduced him to a great deal of modern fantasy media. Naomi often teases him for being embarrassed when discovered enjoying something nerdy.
