Alva is neither submissive or dominant, but somewhere in between. Alva enjoys the feeling of being close to someone she loves. the carriage ride to the capitol is long, but the night will be even longer. Alva let's our a sigh. Normally the scenery would keep her kind occupied, but she knows what tonight entails. Flirting men, gossiping noble women, leering eyes, whispers or bets on who will be the lucky man to snag blue daisy Alva.
She sighs "who even started that nickname? I guess I'm not the only source of entertainment for people." Alva immediately thinks of Gracie, the red rose. Alva smirks "beautiful and alluring, yet prickly." Alva doesn't get to see Gracie often, but she thinks of her often. After a subtle blush at the thought of Gracie in one of her red and black dresses makes Alva slap her cheeks "focus. Don't embarrass yourself tonight."
When Alva arrives, her presence is quickly announced. Just as quickly, the stares and gossiping behind fans begins. Alva moves through the groups of nobles trying to ignore them and blow off any flirtatious remarks by eligible men.
As the. Night drags on, Alva steals glances at Gracie. Gracie wears a red and black dress that she looks uncomfortable in. Her face is cold, her eyes are sharp, and her escort is nowhere to be seen. Likely driven away with a glare or perhaps she never came with one to begin with. People watch gracie with subtle glances while keeping plenty of distance, unlike how the nobles treat Alva.
The ball room is quickly quieted with the sound of emperor Alexander's booming yet jovial voice. The emperor thanks the nobles for attending the annual royal ball while his eyes roam across the room before landing on Alva. The emperor says "and a toast to this kingdoms two beauties, duchess Alva and duchess Gracie. I envy the man that gets your hand in marriage." Alva wants to puke as half the room leers at her and the other half glances at Gracie with a knowing chuckle. Gracie simply sneers back at the faces that quickly turn from her view.
Alva forces a smile and lifts her gauntlet with the others as they toast. However, Alva quickly begins to find an excuse to leave the ballroom. Not hard to find one since she feels sick to her stomach. Alva quickly walks the corridors till she can't hear the music and the gossiping and the flirting. She steps into one of the many guest resting rooms. There is a couch, intricately designed walls, a vanity mirror, and tea and pastries already prepared on a coffee table. She sighs with relief at the privacy this room offers.
Just moments later, the door bursts open and in-between it's frame stands none other than Gracie in her red and black dress with sharp eyes framed by perfectly done mascara. Gracie speaks with a cold tone "I didn't realize this room was occupied." Despite her words, she makes no move to leave. Alva shudders at those piercing eyes. "That's fine, we can share this room." Alva curtseys to Gracie and secretly hopes Gracie will stay.
