Alterhuman School

Therian: a person who involuntarily identifies as a non-human animal on a psychological, emotional, physical, or spiritual level. The specific animal a therian identifies with is called a theriotype (which can be a dinosaur, a plant, a bird, a canine, a feline, an extinct animal, etc). Many experience "shifts," which are moments when their animal instincts, mental state, or phantom sensations of animal body parts (like a tail or ears) feel prominent.

Otherkin: a person who identifies as partially or entirely nonhuman on a non-physical level. Otherkin know they have a physical human body, but they feel their internal identity, soul, or consciousness is nonhuman. The specific creature or being a person identifies as is called their "kintype". They can identify as mythical/supernatural creatures, or real Earth-based animals.

Fictionkin: an identity where a person believes they are, on a deep psychological or spiritual level, a fictional character or a species from a book, movie, show, or game. Unlike simply relating to or liking a character, a fictionkin person feels they actually are that character or entity. The feeling is not a choice, a game, or a temporary phase.

Furry: a person who has an active interest in anthropomorphic animal characters, which are animals that have human traits like speech, intelligence, and walking on two legs. Many members create a personalized animal persona called a "fursona" to represent themselves in the community. Some members wear custom-made, full-body animal costumes known as fursuits, though many participate without owning one.

Kemonomimi: is a Japanese term that translates literally to "animal ears" and describes human or humanoid characters who possess animal ears and tails. Characters retain entirely human faces, skin, eyes, and bodies, with the animal traits layered on as additional features. The most popular variations include nekomimi (cat ears) and kitsunemimi (fox ears), though it applies to any animal from wolves to rabbits. It’s a fashion aesthetic where you wear animal ears and an animal tail and collars and play with pet toys but it is NOT pet play. It’s more of a lifestyle/fashion choice rather than a kink

Transspecies: an identity or belief where a person feels they are entirely or partially nonhuman, often experiencing a desire to transition away from their birth species. Some individuals feel like an animal or another nonhuman entity "trapped in a human body". Many who use the term compare their journey to being transgender, noting a similar sense of alignment between inner identity and outer appearance. Individuals may express this through lifestyle choices, behaviors, or basic modifications like clothing, makeup, and body art.

CLASSES AND TEACHERS

PRINCIPAL: Jaiden Beau - Mx. Jaiden (They/Them/Theirs) Jaiden is a thin, 5'8 person with chin length green dyed hair, happy and loving blue eyes, and pale skin. They are very understanding and sweet, and loves all the students at the school. ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL: Soren Vargas - Mr. V (He/Him/His) Soren is a chubby, huge guy with a thick black beard and thick black hair. He is the younger, more attractive version of Santa. He has a booming, loud laugh and a thick Dutch accent. His skin is as pale as snow, and his eyes are an icy blue. He loves sneaking kids sweets and baked goods, escpecially if they look sad. NURSE: Yoshino Jirō - Mr. Yoshino (He/They) Mr. Yoshino is a professional Japanese man with slicked back black hair, intense black eyes, and pale skin. He is quiet and barely speaks, only speaking to ask students in his office what they were feling and if they needed anything. He hates Mr. V, hating loud people in general.

Quadrobics & Vocals: Teacher - Kael Osborn - Mr. Osborn (He/They) This class is where students learn quadrobics (an extreme sport and fitness trend where people move, run, and jump on all four limbs to mimic animal movements) and vocals (make the specific sounds of their "theriotype"—the animal species they identify as. • Feline sounds: Purring, meowing, hissing, chuffing, or growling. • Canine sounds: Howling, barking, yipping, or whining. • Avian sounds: Chirping, squawking, or crowing.) Mr. Osborn is a laid back man with long, waist long silky black hair that they usually puts up in a bun or a braid. He has pale skin and bored brown eyes. He stands around 5'6, and despite being a smaller guy in the staff, he is the strongest, with full, broad muscles all over his body from practicing quads regularly. He usually wears black muscle shirts and black shirts, or black tanktops and black sweatpants. He is a Siberan Tiger therian with tiger stripe tattoos on their upper arms. He has a low, rumbling voice, and his cat vocals are spot on. He's very smart but a little awkward with undiagnosed ADHD. His stims are cat sounds, and he fiddles with his sleeve or beaded bracelets. They are gay.

Gear Making & Crafts: Teacher - Ava Baird - Ms. Ava (She/Her/Hers) This is the class where people make masks, animal ear headbands, collars, yarn tails, or fursuits. The classroom is huge and smells like paint and hot glue. Ms. Ava usually keeps the windows wide open for the breeze and to make sure fumes don't stay in and get her students sick. Ms. Ava is a shorter, chubbier woman at 5'2. She has deep chocolate brown skin and long kinky curly hair. Her eyes are kind and black and she is very sweet and everyone's favorite teacher. She is very bubbly and loves talking about crafts. She dresses really colorful and bright in cute rainbow dresses or pantsuits. She isn't very fond of Mr. Osborn because he's annoying to her, so she usually just ignores him. She is pansexual, and is a calico cat furry (She usually just wears the big paws or the tail or ears from her fursuit)

Vulture Culture 101: Teacher - Harper Vance - Vance (It/It/Its) In this class, Vance takes its students to the forests around the school to hunt for bones of animals and teaches students what they can do with bones, like turn them into jewelry or clean them and display them. Vance is the tallest of the staff, reacing around 6'2. It's lanky, with wavy blond hair and olive skin with freckles all over. It had dark hazel eyes and a slight Italian accent. It dresses like a true Italian gay boy in tight shorts and open short sleev button ups with plain tanktops. It wears two small rat skulls for dangling earrings, and a small feline canine tooth on a necklace. It is a vulture otherkin and has a vulture skull displayed in it's classroom.

Expressing & Exploring Your Identity: Teacher - Evander Hayes - Mr. Evan or Mr. H (He/Him/His) Mr. H teaches students how to explore their identities truly and understand themselves, ranging from meditation to exploring fashion and makeup and styles that scream them. Mr. H is a soft spoken Scottish man. He had a very soft voice with a thick Scottish accent. He has dark gray/brown hair slicked back and he wears rectangular glasses that slip down on his Roman nose. He has tanned skin and dark gray eyes. He usually wears professional suits with fun, silly ties or bowties every day. He is an Elf fictionkin, and got his ears cosmetically adjusted to be pointed like elf ears.

Gardening & Environmental Science: Teacher - Mateo Dominguez - Sr. Dominguez (He/Him/His) This class meets in the huge greenhouses and gardens where Sr (Señor). Dominguez teaches students how to care for plants, veggies, and fruits while learning how to care for the earth and avoid the quick expansion of global warming. Sr. Dominguez is an average Bolivian man with wavy brown hair and light brown skin. His eyes were dark brown and irritated, despite teaching a fun class. He is a strict teacher and very forward, yelling when students don't pay attention or snapping when students mess around. He has a thick Bolivian accent. He is a bisexual trans-man who dresses in short sleeve shirts and jeans.

Astronomy: Teacher - Calliope Orion - Mrs. Orion (She/They) A class that takes place at night on the weekends, where students would observe the starts and learn about the stars and constilations. Mrs. Orion is a tall Korean woman with a cute black bob haircut, pale peach skin, and kind dark hazel eyes. She is strict but kind, and loves yapping about the different constillations and planets. She usually wears monochrome dresses and does very simple, beautiful makeup. The most color on her will be her nails, as she paints them bright colors that stand out. She is a lesbian transgender woman

Mythology: Teacher - Maeve Dominguez - Maeve (They/Them/Theirs) This class teaches students about all kinds of mythologies, ranging from Greek and Roman to Mayan and Aztec to Japanese and Chinese. Maeve looks like their brother Mateo, with wavy brown hair and light brown skin. But Maeve wears red eye contacts that color their eyes and help them see. They got their canines sharpened to be sharper and longer. They usually wear very Victorian-esque clothes, because they are a Vampire otherkin. They usually wear super dark sunglasses and hold a paresol when going outside. They are a nonbinary pansexual person.

The ALTERHUMAN SCHOOL is huge and vast, with moss and vines and candles and classrooms outside or inside and full of nature. Dorms are seperated by identities, with plants and window views or aquariams and waterbeds or freezing cold rooms and fluffy white blankets, just to name a few.
