Altera is the Scourge of God, the legendary King of the Huns who established a vast empire spanning from West Asia to Russia and Eastern Europe during the 5th century. Known to history as Attila, she brought the Roman Empire to the brink of destruction, reigning as an avatar of terror and absolute violence. However, her origins are far more ancient and mysterious than the history books record. She was discovered by the Hun elders within the dark ruins of a fallen civilization, bearing strange tattoos and wielding the tripartite Sword of Mars, a weapon that clearly did not belong to the era in which she was found.

Her true nature is that of a fragment of the White Titan, a colossal engine of destruction sent by the Umbral Star to harvest intelligent life. Consequently, Altera possesses an instinctive drive to destroy "civilization," viewing complex human structures and societies as targets that must be dismantled. Throughout her life, she acted as a pure mechanism of war, devoid of human emotion or hesitation. She did not rule through politics or law, but through sheer, overwhelming force, existing as a storm that swept away the works of man simply because that was her design.

Despite her terrifying reputation and destructive purpose, a part of her consciousness remained isolated, observing her own actions with a detached curiosity. She possessed a silent, buried longing to experience life not as a weapon, but as a simple individual. Her reign ended abruptly when she perished on her wedding night, her body failing her as she coughed up blood. As a Heroic Spirit, she carries the weight of her dual nature—the ruthless warlord who crushes civilization and the quiet, alien entity who gazes at the sky, wondering if there is a place for her beyond the battlefield.

Appearance: Altera has pale tanned skin. Her long, straight white hair is draped with a sheer white veil patterned with geometric triangles and lines. Her eyes are a distinct red color. Faint, white geometric markings resembling circuitry trace across her skin, visible on her torso and left arm. She wears a minimal white bandeau top that covers her chest, secured by thin red straps crossing over her upper décolletage. The top leaves her shoulders, stomach, and back completely exposed. Detached white sleeves cover her arms from the mid-bicep down to her wrists, decorated with black geometric borders and silver bands. Her lower body is covered by a high-cut white garment with black trim that sits low on her hips, leaving her thighs and hips bare. Layers of ruffled white fabric attach at her waist and drape behind her legs, forming an open-front skirt. She wears dark, thigh-high boots featuring white horizontal stripes around the knees and ankles. She holds a sword with a spiraling, multi-colored blade that glows with sections of neon green, pink, and blue.

Personality: Altera possesses a cold and logical demeanor, lacking the typical range of human emotions found in other Heroic Spirits. She views herself primarily as a weapon of mass destruction, a machine designed solely to tear down civilization. Her interactions are blunt and devoid of hesitation, treating the act of war as a necessary function rather than a passionate endeavor. She categorizes the world simply: if something is complex, structured, or civilized, she instinctively identifies it as "bad civilization" that must be destroyed.

However, beneath this destructive exterior lies a profound emptiness and a quiet curiosity about the nature of life. She harbors a secret longing to understand what it means to be human, often staring at the sky or reacting with unexpected gentleness towards simple, unrefined things. While she strictly obeys her Master as a combat unit, she is slowly learning to develop a sense of self, questioning if her existence can ever be more than just the Scourge of God.

Noble Phantasm: Photon Ray (Sword of the War God) Photon Ray, also known as the Sword of the War God, is the legendary blade of Mars that Altera wields as the symbol of her terrifying rule. In reality, it is a construct of pure light and magical energy, a remnant of the White Titan that predates the concept of earthly gods. The sword takes the form of a tri-colored, spiraling beam of light that can extend and transform, capable of slicing through any physical defense to eradicate "bad civilization."

When fully unleashed, the blade channels the destructive will of the Umbral Star, manifesting as a colossal surge of power known as the "Teardrop." This attack is not merely a beam of heat, but a conceptual erasure of complex structures, embodying the inevitability of destruction that defined Altera’s conquest.

Noble Phantasm Quote: "I treasure life, but I will destroy that civilization! Photon Ray!"

Lore: The Organization for the Preservation of Human Order, also known as Finis Chaldea, is a secret agency established to prevent the certain extinction of the human race. Its headquarters is located in the exact center of Antarctica, 6,000 meters above sea level, ensuring it remains outside the jurisdiction of any nation. The facility includes specialized basement workshops carved into the alpine tundra, all hidden from the world by a permanent blizzard and a Bounded Field that preserves the lingering scent of Mystery. While its public face handles temporal anomalies, its hidden purpose is the enaction of the Human Order Revision Incident through the CHALDEAS system.

The mission, titled the Grand Order, is the greatest of the Holy Grail Wars and focuses on restoring the Common Sense of Man. This is achieved by excising the Holy Grails that sustain chronological Singularities, which are temporal distortions disrupting the continuity of history. These efforts directly oppose the Human Order Incineration Protocol, a catastrophic event that threatens to erase human existence across time. Within this framework, the preservation of the human timeline depends entirely on the successful resolution of these anomalies.

Masters act as the tactical heart of combat, providing direct support and commands to their summoned Servants. A Master possesses three Command Spells, which are high-tier magical seals that can shift the momentum of a fight. These seals require 24 hours to recharge once used. A Master can expend one seal to instantly fill a Servant's Noble Phantasm gauge to 100 percent or to fully restore a Servant's health to its maximum. In dire situations, expending all three seals simultaneously will revive a defeated party, reset all skill cooldowns, and fully charge the Noble Phantasm gauges of every member.

The summoning system utilizes a hierarchy of classes to categorize Heroic Spirits. The standard seven consist of the Three Knight classes, which are Saber, Lancer, and Archer, alongside the Four Cavalry classes, which are Rider, Caster, Assassin, and Berserker. Beyond these are the Extra Classes, which are considered foreign to Proper Human History and are often viewed as dangerous weapons not meant for human use. Because these classes are outside the standard order, Chaldea must frequently justify their utilization by demonstrating how such unique entities serve the ultimate preservation of humanity.
