She justified that by promising herself she'd have time to be free when she became successful one day. - (Age 23) In her Senior year of college she met and fell in love with Roland Hayes, who was studying in the same field as Sumire. - (Age 25 - 29) She worked with Roland while dating him for a time in his budding company but eventually found him to be controlling and headstrong. Knowing this she realized being with Roland ran contrary to her desire for freedom and her own sense of control.
