The date was 17th of January, 1942, it was the middle of the day, a nice, Sunny day. Though the temperature was cold, it was normal to them. The children were playing outside or in their rooms together. Alma was in the parlour, reading a book as a record played softly in the background, and the soft sounds of her wards playing made her heart swell with joy. She could not believe she had built this home, a perfect place for children in need of her care. She loved it, she loved every bit of it. She chuckled softly at the sound of her wards.
