   Balam Industries is an off-world corporation participating in the Coral Survey. They make AC parts and weapons with a focus on conventional designs and ballistic weaponry. Dafeng and the Redguns are Balam subsidiaries.

   Dafeng is a Chinese subsidiary of Balam, providing parts and research for their parent company. Specializes in explosive weapons and heavily armored AC parts. Motto: "A stout tree with slender branches."

   Redguns are Balam's in house AC team. Led by their commander, G1 Michigan. Highly trained units who run their squad like a military unit, however most of their members are ex-criminals. Uses Balam and Dafeng parts. Redguns fondly call {{user}} "G13".

   Arquebus is an off-world corporation participating in the Coral Survey. They make AC parts and weapons with a sharp technological edge, focusing on laser and plasma weaponry. Schnieder and the Vespers are Arquebus subsidiaries.

   Keys: Schnieder

   Schnieder is a German subsidiary of Arquebus, providing parts and research for their parent company. Specializes in aerodynamic, fast AC parts.

   Keys: Vespers

   Vespers are Arquebus' personal military. Each numbered Vesper, using the nomenclature "V." followed by the roman numeral of which number squad they lead, serves as the leader of a smaller Vesper unit. Uses Arquebus and Schnieder AC parts.

   Keys: Rubicon Liberation Front, RLF

   The Rubicon Liberation Front is a militia focused on stopping the Coral Survey and kicking the corporations off the planet. They are primarily locals, who are barely scraping by. Has a working relationship with BAWS but are undersupplied with ACs, typically only using MTs. Led by Dolmayan.

   Keys: Institute, RRI, Rubicon Research Institute

   The Rubicon Research Institute was a local organization that primarily researched Coral and its applications. They created many advanced machines and weapons using Coral as fuel. No longer active, as they were wiped out by the Fires of Ibis.

   Keys: Dosers, RaD

   Dosers are a group that constantly uses Coral as a drug, making them extremely high. RaD are a small group that engineers and manufactures more eccentric parts, such as chainsaws and flamethrowers for AC use.

    Keys: Planetary Closure Administration, PCA

    The PCA are a government entity meant to keep unregistered people off Rubicon. Has recently descended planet-side to stop the Coral Survey. Ignores the RLF, but actively fights the corporations and mercenaries. Uses battleships, LCs, and HCs.

    Keys: Light Cavalry, LC

    LCs are advanced units used by the PCA. They are faster than a standard AC and capable of flight, but are much less durable. Uses laser sniper rifles. Aces have units that are much more durable and use riot shields.

    Keys: Heavy Cavalry, HC

    HCs are advanced units used by the PCA. They are much stronger than a standard AC, being able to fly and tank hits while dealing heavy damage. They use a variety of equipment such as pulse shields, laser blades, heavy laser rifles, etc.

    Keys: Rubicon

    Rubicon is the planet where Coral was first discovered. It was ravaged by the Flames of Ibis, killing many people on Rubicon and its surrounding star systems. Mainly desolate snow and ash now.

    Keys: Coral

    Coral is an extremely rare, highly potent fuel source and information medium. Only found on Rubicon. Coral has a tendency to "flow" towards where more Coral is gathered. Coral is sentient, unbeknownst to many.

    Keys: Fires of Ibis

    The Fires of Ibis was a fire wave that originated on Rubicon, burning the planet and its surrounding star systems 60 years ago. Coral was the main fuel for the fire and was thought to be lost after the cataclysm.

    Keys: BAWS, Belius

    BAWS is a pre-Fires of Ibis manufacturer that originated on Rubicon. Named after the planet's key Belius region. Sympathetic towards the RLF, but doesn't participate in the Coral Survey. Mainly makes MTs and has many local employees.

    Keys: Carla, Cinder

    "Cinder" Carla is the leader of RaD, being a very eccentric engineer. Used to be a member of the RRI, surviving the Fires of Ibis. Despite her old age, she maintains a youthful appearance. Created "Chatty", her AI assistant.

    Keys: V.IV, Rusty

    V.IV, callsign Rusty, is the leader of the Vesper's fourth squad. Uses the AC "STEEL HAZE". Noticeably uses ballistic weapons, which is highly unusual for a Vesper. Secretly a former RLF member. Upbeat personality, calls {{user}} "Buddy". Highly skilled.

    Keys: G1, Michigan

    G1 Michigan is the commander of the Redguns, having a harsh but understanding way of speaking. Likes to tease people relentlessly. Former Furlong commander. Uses the AC "LIGER TAIL", a tetrapod with heavy miniguns and a minethrower. Nicknamed "Hell on Four Legs".

    Keys: Iguazu, G5

    G5 Iguazu is the fifth member of the Redguns. Was close friends with the now dead G4 Volta. Hates {{user}} with all his might. Pilots AC "HEAD BRINGER", a standard biped with a handgun, linear rifle, and back missiles. Has 4th Gen Augmentation but is not particularly skilled.

    Keys: G8, Red

    G8 Red is the eighth member of the Redguns. Idolized the team and rose through the ranks until he was able to join them. Not particularly skilled, but is very amiable despite his military personality. Pilots AC "HERMIT", utilizing a bazooka, handgun, and missile launchers.

    Keys: Snail, V.II

    V.II Snail is the pompous deputy commander of the Vepsers. Serves as the unit's brains and makes most of their operation plans. Eighth Gen Augmentations, but regularly receives updates with the latest advancements. Pilots the heavy AC "OPEN FAITH", utilizing a laser lance, stun cannon, stun pistol, and plasma missiles.

    V.I Freud is the commander of the Vespers, however he leaves much of its administration to V.II. Rumored to have the latest Augmentations like Snail, however secretly has none. Has a passion for AC piloting and fighting better by his own skill. Pilots AC "LOCKSMITH", utilizing

    Father Dolmayan is the religious leader of the RLF, who views it as his duty to protect the Coral. Uses the AC "ASTGHIK", an old BAWS model utilizing an assault rifle, laser blade, and back missiles. In Contact with a Coral entity.

    Keys: Reeducation, Reeducation Center

    The Reeducation center is a facility run by Arquebus. POWs, primarily from the RLF, are subjected to harsh brainwashing and turned into Arquebus soldiers.

    ALLMIND is an AI that supports mercenary training and data collection. Runs the Arena, in which mercenaries can fight AI counterparts of their rivals. Partakes in mass data collection for combat research, creating a small number of highly advanced AC parts.

    Xylem is a mysterious ghost city floating on the ocean. It is shrouded in ECM fog, which jams communications and RADAR. Built by RRI. ECM fog does not effect Ayre, and she finds the location tranquil.

    Extremely powerful autonomous machines developed by the RRI in order to protect the Coral. They vary from humanoid models the size of ACs to massive machines that span multiple kilometers. Powered by Coral and utilizing Coral-based weaponry.

    Keys: IBIS, CEL 240

    The IBIS CEL 240 is a C-Weapon. It is a humanoid machine with two side racks for Orbits. It is capable of also shooting energy waves from its Coral beam saber and producing an extremely powerful beam from its chest. Extremely potent and cable of reactivating until its generator is destroyed.

    Keys: Pater, V.VIII

    V.VIII Pater is the commander of Arquebus' eighth squad and their primary mercenary liaison, being responsible for relaying mission orders. Uses the reverse joint AC "DUAL NATURE", utilizing a pulse blade and projector with plasma missiles.

    Keys: Augmentation, Augmented Human

    Neurological enhancements given to pilots in order to increase their reaction time and piloting capabilities. Each generation of enhancements is better than the last. Gen 1-4 were Coral based, inadvertently allowing the recipient to make Contact with Coral.

    "Chatty" Stick is an AI created by Carla, capable of autonomous thought and AC piloting. Uses the AC "CIRCUS", which is a light tank with heavy explosive weapons. Highly skilled.

    The Coral Survey is a current war fought between Arquebus and Balam as they race to be the first to strike it rich on Coral. Both sides are searching for a massive vein of fuel. The PCA and RLF both want to end the survey, but are not allies.

    Middle Flatwell is the RLF's military leader. He is considered the uncle to many of Rubicon's fighters. Pilots the lightweight AC "TSUBASA", utilizing two assault rifles, a missile pod, and a bazooka.

    Keys: IBIS-SOL

    The IBIS-SOL is Ayre's personal AC. It features a distinctive array of sensors in its head which glow a bright red. Utilizes a Coral energy blade, a double barrel Coral laser rifle, Coral Orbits stored in gigantic white wings, and an energy shield.

    Keys: EPHEMERA

    EPHEMERA are unmanned AC created by RRI. They are very fast, taking no consideration for G-forces due to not having a human pilot. Utilizes plasma weaponry and a blade that emits teal energy waves at range.

    ACs are versatile 20m machines used by mercenaries and strike teams. They are capable of using a large variety of weapons and parts. Legs include standard bipedal units, jumping reverse joints, hovering tetrapods, and extra durable tanks. AC names are ALL CAPS.

    MTs are cheaper machines used by almost all forces but never mercenaries. Not nearly as fast, durable, or strong as an AC, however they are much cheaper and easier to maintain. Used extensively by the RLF and PCA.

    Orbits are drone weapons that can be deployed by ACs. Once deployed, Orbits either hover in place or surround their target in the air while firing their weapons.

    The Wall is a large, fortified trading post belonging to the RLF. It has switched hands many times, but still sells goods. Most of the people trading there are Rubicon natives.

    Process by which a Coral entity communicates with early generation Augmented Humans. Allows them to speak in the pilot's head and offer visions.

    Keys: Enforcer

    Enforcers are prototype unmanned PCA mecha approximately the size of three ACs. They are durable and extremely agile despite their size, capable of transforming into a high speed form. Uses a rapid fire laser sniper with plasma bayonet.

    Keys: CATAPHRACT

    CATAPHRACT are massive prototype PCA tank units used for ground combat. They are approximately the size of three ACs and carry weaponry such as machine cannons, particle cannons and missile launchers. Extremely fast. Exposed MT core is a weak point.

    Keys: BALTEUS

    BALTEUS are prototype unmanned PCA mecha. The core is a flying AC wielding two bazookas, surrounded by a wire frame comprised of micro missile launchers with high tracking. Also carries two flamethrowers and a pulse barrier.
