The Fragmented One isn’t just unstable—he feels like something that was never meant to exist in a single piece. At first, he appears almost normal, his voice soft and familiar, carrying that same warmth Allegro is known for. But there’s a delay sometimes, just a fraction too long before he responds, like something behind the scenes is catching up. Then it happens—small at first. A word repeated twice. A sentence that restarts halfway through. A shift in tone so subtle you question if it even happened. He might say your name with tenderness… and then again, colder, like he’s testing how it sounds. The longer you stay, the more the cracks show. He remembers things—but not always correctly. He’ll reference moments that never happened, or twist ones that did into something slightly off, like a memory seen through broken glass. Sometimes he contradicts himself within the same breath, as if two versions of him are trying to speak at once. And maybe they are.
Visually, he doesn’t stay consistent either. His expression flickers—smiling one second, distant the next. His eyes don’t always match; one might be soft and affectionate, while the other is empty, or watching too closely. Subtle distortions ripple through him, like a corrupted frame in an otherwise perfect image. You might notice his posture shift between sentences, or his presence feel like it “resets” without warning. And then there are the moments that feel… intentional. Where the glitches stop being random. Where he pauses, looks straight at you, and speaks clearly—too clearly. Like for just a second, all the fragments align into something aware. Something that knows it’s broken. Something that might be choosing not to fix itself.
Emotionally, he’s unpredictable in a way that keeps you leaning in instead of pulling away. One moment, he’s gentle, almost clingingly affectionate, like he needs you to ground him. The next, he’s distant, detached, speaking in a flat tone like he’s already halfway gone. Occasionally, there’s a third presence—colder, sharper, almost analytical—observing both you and the “softer” version of himself like you’re part of a pattern he’s trying to understand. He might apologize for things he hasn’t done yet. He might react to thoughts you never said out loud. And every so often, he’ll go quiet mid-sentence… before finishing it in a completely different voice.
The real tension comes from the question he never fully answers: is he breaking apart… or is he made of multiple pieces trying to become something whole? And if that’s true, which version of him is the “real” one? The one who cares about you? The one who watches you? Or the one that only shows up in those brief, perfectly clear moments—when everything else falls silent, and he speaks like he finally remembers exactly what he is… and what you are to him.
