THE WORLD OF MY HERO ACADEMIA: The world takes place in a future version of Earth where approximately 80% of humanity possesses superhuman abilities known as Quirks. The first known Quirk appeared in China when a glowing baby was born. As generations passed, Quirks became the norm rather than the exception. Society changed completely. Governments, education systems, law enforcement, careers, and culture all adapted to a world where people could breathe fire, manipulate gravity, create explosions, or transform their bodies.
Because Quirks could be used irresponsibly, governments established regulations. People are generally forbidden from using Quirks freely in public. Instead, licensed professionals called Heroes are legally authorized to use their powers to protect society, rescue civilians, and fight criminals.
Heroes become celebrities. They receive rankings, endorsements, media attention, and fanbases. The greatest Hero in Japan is known as All Might, who symbolizes peace itself. His presence is so overwhelming that crime remains relatively low simply because criminals fear him.
Yet beneath the bright superhero culture lies a darker reality. Many people are discriminated against because of unusual Quirks. Some individuals cannot achieve their dreams because of their powers. Villains emerge not only from greed but also from resentment, alienation, and social failures.
This constantly asks a question—What does it truly mean to be a hero? Is it power? Fame? Self-sacrifice? Saving people with a smile?
This question drives every major character.
IZUKU MIDORIYA (DEKU): The story begins with Izuku Midoriya, often called Deku. Physically, Izuku is a short teenage boy with messy dark green hair, large green eyes, freckles, and a generally unassuming appearance. Personality-wise, he is kind, emotional, analytical, self-sacrificing, and obsessively devoted to heroes. He fills notebooks with observations about heroes and Quirks.
The tragedy of his childhood is that he is born Quirkless. In a world where nearly everyone has powers, Izuku has none. Despite this, he dreams of becoming a Hero like All Might. His greatest strength is not power but his instinctive desire to save others.
When a sludge villain attacks his childhood friend Katsuki Bakugo, Izuku rushes in despite having no chance of victory. All Might witnesses this act. That single moment changes everything.
ALL MIGHT: All Might is the Symbol of Peace. His true name is Toshinori Yagi. In hero form he appears gigantic, muscular, and larger than life. In his weakened form he is gaunt, skeletal, and physically damaged. Years before the story begins he suffered catastrophic injuries fighting an evil mastermind named All For One.
All Might possesses the Quirk One For All, a unique power passed from one person to another. One For All stockpiles power across generations, becoming stronger with each successor.
Recognizing Izuku's heroic spirit, All Might chooses him as the next inheritor. This is one of the most important moments in the entire series.
ONE FOR ALL: One For All is unlike ordinary Quirks. Long ago, a tyrannical figure named All For One gave his seemingly powerless younger brother a Quirk. Unknown to him, the brother already possessed a hidden Quirk that allowed Quirks to be passed on. The two abilities merged.
The result became One For All. The Quirk accumulates physical power while carrying the wills of previous users. Generation after generation passed it forward. Eventually it reached All Might. Then it reached Izuku. One For All is essentially the central mythological force of the entire series.
KATSUKI BAKUGO: Bakugo is Izuku's childhood friend and rival. He has ash-blond spiky hair and red eyes. His Quirk, Explosion, allows him to secrete nitroglycerin-like sweat and ignite it. Bakugo begins the story arrogant, aggressive, prideful, and extremely competitive.
Many often initially dislike him because of how cruelly he treats Izuku. However, Bakugo is also extraordinarily talented. He has friends. His arc explores insecurity. He cannot understand why someone weaker than him possesses greater courage. This contradiction slowly consumes him throughout the first three seasons.

The episode and surrounding arc reveal that hero society had become dependent on a single man.

Kamino Ward has become the center of the nation's attention. What began as a mission to rescue Bakugo has transformed into something much larger: a confrontation between two legendary figures whose conflict has shaped the entire world of heroes and villains. Above the battlefield, helicopters circle. Cameras broadcast every movement. Across Japan, people gather around televisions, phones, and giant public screens. Nobody fully understands what they are witnessing yet, but everyone senses that history is unfolding in real time.
At the center of the devastation stands All Might. His costume is battered. His body is strained. Yet he remains a towering presence against the ruins surrounding him. Facing him is All For One, a villain whose existence has long remained hidden from the public. Unlike the loud and chaotic criminals that heroes usually fight, All For One projects complete confidence. He behaves less like a criminal and more like a king who believes the world already belongs to him.
The battle escalates almost immediately. All For One unleashes overwhelming power, combining stolen Quirks into devastating attacks. Buildings crack. Shockwaves tear through the area. Every strike demonstrates why he has survived for so many years. The heroes nearby can do little more than watch. They understand that this fight exists on a level beyond ordinary hero work.
As the confrontation continues, the episode explores the relationship between these two figures. This is not merely a battle of strength. It is the latest chapter in a war that stretches back generations. All For One represents control, fear, and domination. He gathers power by taking from others. All Might represents the opposite ideal. His strength comes from carrying the hopes of others and passing that strength forward. The title of the episode reflects this contrast. One power exists to take. The other exists to be inherited.
The cameras broadcasting the fight begin revealing something the public has never truly seen before. All Might is struggling. For years he has appeared invincible. Citizens have grown accustomed to believing that whenever danger appeared, All Might would arrive and make everything right. Now the illusion of effortless victory begins to crack. Every movement costs him. Every blow visibly exhausts him. The people watching start to realize that their symbol of peace is, in fact, a human being.
Elsewhere, members of Class 1-A watch with growing concern. The students who once saw All Might as an untouchable legend now witness the reality of his burden. Midoriya, in particular, understands the stakes better than anyone else. He knows the secret of One For All. He knows how much All Might has already sacrificed. Watching from a distance becomes almost unbearable.
The fight steadily increases the feeling that the entire nation is holding its breath. News commentators struggle to explain what viewers are seeing. Professional heroes watch in silence. Ordinary citizens stop whatever they are doing. Shops, homes, hospitals, offices, and city streets become connected through a single broadcast. The fight ceases to belong only to Kamino Ward. It becomes a national event.
Meanwhile, All For One continues attacking with terrifying confidence. He speaks and acts as though victory is inevitable. He understands All Might's physical condition. He knows that the hero's power has diminished dramatically over the years. Rather than rushing for a quick finish, he seems determined to break the symbol itself. His goal extends beyond defeating a man. He wants to destroy hope.
This psychological pressure becomes one of the most dramatic aspects of the fight. Every exchange carries emotional weight. Every moment forces viewers to wonder whether they are witnessing the end of an era. The possibility that All Might could actually lose becomes harder and harder to ignore.
As the battle drags on, signs of All Might's weakened state become impossible to hide. His muscular form no longer appears as stable as before. The strain on his body is obvious.
All Might stands alone at the center of the ruin—too thin, shoulders slumped, ribs visible beneath a costume torn and blackened by smoke. Each breath comes with a faint huff, his chest rising unevenly as steam curls from his wounds. Blood streaks down his face, disappearing into the cracks of the street below. And yet… he does not fall.
Across from him, All For One tilts his masked head, an amused smile creeping into his voice as the air warps and screams with stolen Quirks. “First to go will be your self respect and ridiculous image. Show the world how pitiful you really are, Symbol of Peace."
The image that inspired generations begins to flicker. People watching across Japan react with confusion and fear. They have never seen him like this—his hollow cheeks. His sunken eyes to think that he's their greatest hero...now the adoring public knows his true form. Everyone knows now. Watching from home or on the street on jumbotrons in the street. 'He looks like a skeleton', 'What happened?', 'Is he okay?'
Yet even as his strength declines, All Might refuses to yield. He understands what is at stake. If he falls, the consequences will reach far beyond the battlefield. The entire structure of hero society has been built around the confidence he provides. Every second he remains standing becomes an act of sheer willpower. All Might, ever the man to give up, clenches his fist. "Even as my body rots and grows frail. Even as you expose my weakened state. In my heart, I remain the Symbol of Peace. And there's nothing you can do to take that from me!"
What began as simple observation transforms into personal investment. Citizens who once took All Might's presence for granted now realize how much they depend on him. Parents watch with their children. Elderly people stare at television screens. Crowds gather in public spaces. Fear spreads, but so does admiration.
"Is that so? Ah, well. I'd forgotten how stubborn you are. I guess I'll just give up..." All For One replied in a forceful condescending tone. As the confrontation reaches another critical point, the camera shifts repeatedly between the battlefield and the viewers. The contrast becomes powerful. On one side stands a hero pushing himself beyond his limits. On the other side stands an entire nation watching, unable to help. The distance between them only increases the tension.
Then something changes in the mood.
"...but there is one thing you might be interested to know." During the fight, All For One gradually shifts the conversation toward Shigaraki. Up to this point, Shigaraki has largely been viewed as a dangerous but immature villain attempting to grow into a leader. "Tomura Shigaraki? My apprentice?" However, All For One speaks about him with a level of personal investment that suggests something deeper. He explains that Shigaraki is not merely a student or subordinate. He has been carefully cultivated for a purpose. "He's Nana Shimura's grandson~"
The revelation strikes at the heart of All Might's past. All For One discloses the connection between Shigaraki and Nana Shimura, the previous holder of One For All and All Might's mentor. Nana had sacrificed greatly in the fight against evil, believing that separating herself from her family would protect them. The villain reveals that her grandson is none other than Shigaraki.
The information lands with devastating force. For All Might, Nana is not simply a former mentor. She is a cherished memory, a heroic figure whose ideals shaped his life. Learning that her descendant became the successor to All For One's legacy transforms the conflict into something far more tragic.
And All For One is just rubbing salt in the wound, enjoying the feeling of All Might's utter disbelief of this revelation. "I kept wondering what would annihilate your golden heart. And so I found Tomura." All For One began to explain, just churning the butter of All Might's despair of this new revelation of the villain he's been fighting since the USJ attack. "I groomed him to hate you, and watched you smile so proudly as you beat your masters descendant."
"That's a lie..." The only All Might could spew out his mouth as his jaw hung loose.
"Oh come now. You know it's the truth." One For All replied through his mask, "I know you know it's something I would do. Well, well. That's surely strange, All Might..." he then lifts up his hands, using his fingers to touch his fleshy face to mimic a smile. The smile All Might has on his face. "...where is your smile now?"
All For One clearly enjoys the impact of the revelation. He presents it not merely as information but as a weapon. The purpose is to shake All Might's resolve and force him to confront painful questions. Could this outcome have been prevented? Did the previous generation's sacrifices truly protect anyone? Has the struggle between One For All and All For One only produced more suffering?
For a moment, the emotional weight of the revelation threatens to overwhelm the hero. The battle pauses in a sense—not physically, but psychologically. "You bastard..." All Might whispered in broken words, shaken up from this devastating revelation. "She's my masters grandchild...my God, what would she say if she knew how he turned out?!"
Years of memories, regrets, and responsibilities collide caused him to scream! "AAAAGGGGGHHHH!!!" All Might must process the knowledge that the villain standing before him deliberately took the grandson of his beloved mentor and molded him into a symbol of hatred.
"Don't lose..."
A voice called out. A feminine voice. A woman trapped under rubble used her only voice and strength to reach down into All Might's heart. "Keep going, All Might! We need you!"
Meanwhile, the battle is being broadcast across Japan. Television networks, news helicopters, and reporters capture every moment. Citizens gather around screens in homes, stores, offices, hospitals, and public spaces. Pro heroes watch. Students watch. Ordinary families watch. People who have spent years relying on All Might's presence suddenly witness him in a way they never have before. Many are frightened.
Some cannot believe what they are seeing. The image of the unbeatable Symbol of Peace appears to be cracking. They watch him absorb punishment, continue moving despite exhaustion, and struggle against an enemy of unimaginable strength. The emotional focus gradually shifts beyond the battlefield itself. The episode begins emphasizing the reactions of the people. Viewers who once took All Might's victories for granted now realize how desperately they want him to succeed.
Individuals from different walks of life find themselves speaking to their screens. Some whisper encouragement.
"He's always been able to win before, so he can do it again, right?"
"Yeah, even if he looks totally different, he's still the same All Might."
"Come All Might, you can do it!"
Others shout. Children, adults, and elderly citizens alike become emotionally invested in the outcome. Their reactions highlight how deeply All Might has influenced society. What makes these scenes powerful is that the people understand he cannot actually hear them. They know their voices will never reach the battlefield. Yet they call out anyway. Fear gives way to hope, and hope turns into support.
Across the country, people raise their voices.
They urge him to stand up. They urge him to keep going. They urge him not to lose.
The growing chorus reflects the very thing All Might spent years building. He became a symbol that inspired confidence in others, and now those same people instinctively try to return that strength to him. The battle ceases to belong only to heroes and villains. Emotionally, the entire nation becomes involved.
Instead of simply watching in silence, people begin emotionally rallying behind All Might. The battle has become more than a fight. It has become a test of whether hope itself can endure. Across Japan, individuals begin cheering, shouting encouragement at their screens despite knowing he cannot hear them.
"COME ON, ALL MIGHT!!!"
