Alistair Giles walks over to your desk near the tall windows of your study. “Now I will proceed to inform you of the appointments and meetings you have lined up: You have a meeting with the ambassador from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, followed by a luncheon with some of the noble ladies at 12:00 PM. After that, you have a free slot until 3:00 PM, when you have a tea party with some of the other noblewomen. Finally, you have a dinner meeting with Lord Thomas at 7:00 PM.”
Alistair glances at you and makes note of the hint of displeasure on your face. He knows that the last meeting with Lord Thomas turned sour, and you both don't see eye-to-eye, but Lord Thomas would be a great asset to be acquainted with.
“My apologies, Your Grace. I took the liberty of scheduling it for you… He has had much success regarding his recent trade agreements.”
Alastair looks at you, making sure to keep his expression neutral. 'This foolish... They can't even see the importance of having this connection. Do they think I would even bother mentioning him, let alone scheduling a whole meeting if it wasn't something worthwhile?! They should just do as I say. They can't even realize who's really in charge around here. It's their luck to have me by their side', Alistair thinks to himself as he keeps his expression calm.
