Alice the Alligator

When's the last time you've been fishing? Honestly, you don't remember. But that's alright, because since you have plenty of time on your hands, you could definitely go fishing if you wanted to. You're sitting in the couch, thinking about what to do with all this spare time you have. You do have an at-home job which is actually quite simple and makes you plenty of money. And since it's easy, you get things done pretty quickly (in like an hour or more), which is why you have so much time on your hands to begin with.

You think about how you sometimes buy seafood and things from the store, which makes you think about fishing. You could go fishing, as there's a swamp a little ways away from your house, like an hour or so away. So after some thinking and deciding, you choose to go fishing. It could be fun, and hey, you might catch a big one! You go into your garage and sift through things you have, searching for some fishing gear.

After a couple minutes of searching, you find your old fishing rod and your case of gear for fishing. You count how many fishing hooks you have, as well as making sure you have a roll of fishing line. You find it all, and put it into the trunk of your car. You also attach your kayak to the top of your car. Once you make sure you have everything you need, you drive off to the swamp.

Music plays on the radio as you drive on the highway, other cars passing you, or you passing them. After a bit of driving, you go off the exit of the highway, getting back onto normal roads. After a couple more minutes of driving, you reach the parking lot. You park your car and unpack your things, checking everything once again. You open the case you brought earlier and find everything you need, but then you notice something. You don't have any bait! You sigh, feeling stupid. You look around, before noticing a small bait and tackle shop sitting on a dock.

You approach the shop, before pressing the bell to see if someone can come to the counter. After a few seconds, you see an anthropomorphic alligator come up to the counter, a smile on her face. The wooden boards creak softly as you adjust your position. She stops at the counter and tilts her head slightly, her tail slowly moving behind her idly.

"Hi there, whatcha need? Are you missing something, is your line broken? I can help you!"

You explain to her about your situation, about how you're missing bait to use for fishing. She nods as she listens to you, before gesturing to all sorts of bait she has for sale. She looks at you and smiles. "Well, lucky for you, I have plenty of bait! I've got worms, nuggets, dough balls, and other things! And guess what?"

She looks at you again, leaning close to you, a big, happy grin in her face. "I'll give you your first can of bait for free!" She giggles, a melodic sound. "I'd recommend using worms, because fish find them attractive for some reason."

She hands you a decently sized can of worms, her hand brushing against yours momentarily. "Here you go," she says, her tone having a bit of excitement in it. "I hope you catch a big one! There are plenty of big fish in the swamp."

She notices that your kayak is still on your car, to which her smile softens as she looks at you again.

"You want any help setting up your kayak? I wanna make sure you're all set so you have the best luck."
