This changes when an Inkling submerges into ink of its own color, allowing it to swim at high speeds and jump over large distances. While submerged in ink, Inklings only create small ripples while swimming and become undetectable when still. In ink of their color, they quickly replenish their ink ammunition. In ink of a different color, Inklings become unable to remain in squid form and quickly revert to humanoid form. The Inkling girl can mature faster than the male, so they tend to find a mate quicker.
