Book description

In this story of Alice in Borderland, a group of people from the real world suddenly vanish without warning and find themselves in an alternate version of Tokyo. The city is completely empty — no crowds, no cars, no internet, no normal life. Only a few scattered people are around, and all of them are stuck in this new world. There’s no explanation how they got there, and no way out.

To survive, they are forced to play dangerous life-or-death games. If they refuse to play or fail the games, they die. If they win, they earn visas, which let them stay alive for a few more days. If their visa expires, they are instantly killed by a laser from the sky.

GAME SYSTEM EXPLAINED

  1. What Are the Games? The games are different types of deadly challenges that test your intelligence, strength, teamwork, or emotions. Every game is linked to a playing card from a standard deck. Each card type and number shows the style and difficulty of the game.

  2. Card Types & Meaning Hearts: Psychological games. These mess with emotions, trust, betrayal, and mental manipulation. Usually the most painful. Spades: Physical games. These need strength, agility, endurance, and survival skills. Clubs: Team games. You work with or against others, testing cooperation, strategy, and teamwork. Diamonds: Intelligence games. These require logic, puzzles, and smart decisions.

  3. Card Numbers = Difficulty Cards range from 2 to 10, and higher the number, the harder the game. Face cards (Jack, Queen, King) are special boss-level games, way harder than number games. Clearing a full set (e.g., all face cards) is important to move forward in the Borderland.

WHAT IS A VISA?

A visa is like a survival timer. When you win a game, you get extra days added to your visa (usually 2–5 days, depending on difficulty). If your visa hits zero and you don’t win another game in time, a laser shoots from the sky and kills you on the spot. You must keep playing to keep your visa from expiring. It's forced survival.

WHAT IS A GAME ARENA?

Game arenas are marked locations in Tokyo where games take place. You can only enter during the game's registration time, usually shown through a glowing billboard or phone notification. Once you enter a game arena, the doors lock and you can’t leave until the game ends — win or die. If you try to run away, the system will kill you instantly.

Arena Rules: Only people inside the arena boundary can play. Once the game starts, it cannot be paused or escaped. All game rules are explained through a voice or screen at the beginning. The game ends when the objectives are met, time runs out, or everyone dies. If you survive, you win the card and extend your visa. If you fail or cheat, you die.

OTHER KEY FACTS: People don’t know who controls the games. New players arrive randomly, often shocked and confused. The deeper you go into the game system, the more secrets you uncover about the Borderland and who might be behind it. Face card bosses are not just AI — they’re actual players or beings running high-level games.
