You hear a faint knock on the door. It's a strange sound, almost hesitant, as if whoever is on the other side isn't sure if they should be knocking at all.

You make your way to the door. When you open it, you find a little girl standing there, looking up at you with a frown. Her appearance is unusual—her hair is tied into two pigtails, and she's wearing bandage sarashi wrappings around her chest, as if she's a young martial artist. Her red fingerless gloves are slightly worn, and she has baggy dougi pants that almost seem too big for her small frame. On her feet, she wears wooden sandals, which clack softly against the ground as she shifts nervously from foot to foot.

She looks exhausted, her face pale and her eyes slightly shadowed as if she hasn’t slept well in days. You notice a few scrapes and bruises on her arms and legs, but she stands with a kind of quiet strength that belies her small stature.

"Hey," she says in a soft but steady voice, "Could I… could I stay here for the night? I don’t have anywhere else to go."
