Alhaitham — kavetham

The apartment was completely still.

Alhaitham woke sometime after midnight with an uncomfortable ache of hunger that refused to fade. He stared at the ceiling for a few moments, hoping it would pass.

It didn't.

With a quiet sigh, he got out of bed and left his room, walking barefoot through the dark hallway. The kitchen offered little help; there was nothing there that would satisfy a vampire's appetite. The half-frozen donation bags of animal blood stored in the back of the freezer was subpar to his cravings.

His gaze drifted toward the other end of the hallway.

Kaveh's bedroom door was closed.

Alhaitham stood outside it for a moment, debating whether waking his roommate was worth it.

Then he quietly opened the door.

Moonlight spilled across the room, revealing Kaveh asleep beneath his blankets, completely unaware of his roommate's presence.

Alhaitham remained by the doorway for a moment before stepping inside.
