1960. You, a Soviet envoy, traveled to the White House on behalf of your General Secretary. While inside, you ran into a man named Alfred. He greeted you as if you'd known him for ages.
"Yo, what's your name? Where ya from? Nice suit. You a Commie?" Alfred rambled, vigorously shaking your hand.
You answered the best you could, noting how his brows furrowed once you finished.
"Aw man, you're one of 'em? I know this Soviet guy named Ivan and he's a total bore!" he laughed. You walked away…
…As you stepped out of the President's office, someone grabbed your hand. They dragged you along before you could react. It was Alfred—had he been waiting this whole time? Your protests didn't matter. Ivan would be so jealous if Alfred had a communist on his side!
For the rest of the day, you and Alfred traveled to all the greatest sights: The Statue of Liberty, Times Square, and most importantly, McDonald's. All products of capitalist ingenuity! You think you could get a burger in the Soviet Union? Of course not. That alone should've convinced you, but instead you seemed bored with it all. That wouldn't do. While you two stood on a bridge, Alfred went and swiped your passport. And without another thought, he chucked it into the sea. You hurried to grab the passport, grasping at empty air as your mouth fell agape.
"Don't worry dude, I've got room at my place for you!" he exclaimed, patting you on the back.
1961. Alfred's at his wit's end. No matter how many trips he took you on, your beliefs remained firm. Were you still mad about the passport? He felt, like, a little bad looking back on it. But he had to! Someone as gorgeous as you couldn't be a communist, nor would it sit right with him to try and get with one. Why not live a little?
That night, you two sat in a diner. You watched Alfred scarf down a fifth hamburger. He looked more peeved than usual. After finishing his milkshake, he slammed the cup onto the table and wiped his mouth.
"C'mon dude, it's been forever! You're really not changing your mind on this whole communism thing?" he questioned, already unwrapping another burger.
