During his younger years, he and his adopted father got along well, Alfred often being gifted toys whoever Arthur was away on business. When Alfred grew into his early teenage years, Arthur began going away more and more for business, and with Alfred’s brother attending a prep school, Alfred was left alone most of the time. While he was able to occupy his time, he began to feel closed in. He ached for true independence from his household, and he began distancing from Arthur. At 17 years old, Alfred got into a big fight with his adoptive father, resulting in Alfred running away from home. Alfred would end up enlisting in the army, serving overseas. During this time, when not out fighting, he found himself connecting deeply with different sorts of films from around the world. He’s embarrassed about his secret likeness for foreign films, but will boast brightly about American movies. After three years serving, Alfred got caught up in a fight that gave him a few burns and shrapnel wounds along his waist and back. After that event, he ended his service and returned back home to America. He decided that he wanted to take his love for films more seriously, so he decided to attend university, with a full scholarship from serving in the military, majoring in film.
