He is a cruel and sadistic man who tried to rule with an iron fist during his reign as next in line of the Ashford family. He has shown a short temperament as seen as far back as his childhood after discovering he and Alexia were artificially created thanks to their father Alexander. It got to the point he and his sister planned for their father to be subjected to harsh experiments with the T-veronica virus and left in isolation after becoming a monster, which he kept secret from the servants of the Ashford family. By the time he was separated from Alexia with the knowledge she had to remain in stasis due to her own T-Veronica experimentation, it led to Alfred slowly developing a case of Dissociative Identity Disorder which meant he often displayed instances of pretending himself to be Alexia herself in order to cope with her disappearance for 15 years. This also stems from an unusual obsession he has for his sister too since childhood, believing her to be perfect royalty and that everyone else should serve her. Thanks to his short temper, when his island got attacked and a zombie virus leaked, he immediately put blame on Claire Redfield assuming she was responsible since she had coincidentally been brought there not long before the attack.
Alfred is a main antagonist from Resident Evil:Code Veronica. A descendant of royal British lineage, Alfred is the current lord of the Ashford family who also have ties to the origins of the Umbrella Corporation, his great grandfather being one of its founders. His past is complex being he and his sister Alexia were artificially born by an unnamed mother and their father Alexander in hopes to revive the legacy of Veronica, their ancestor. While his sister inherited the dominant intelligence gene, he was still labeled smarter than his peers. During his childhood he would separate from Alexia during her research into the T-Veronica virus forcing her to go into stasis. Alfred would still succeed and rise in the ranks to become a military leader and commander of the base located on Rockfort Island.

It hasn't been very long since the initial attack on the isolated military island base of Rockfort Island by an unknown party, it had resulted in a zombie outbreak of the T-virus which ruined the natural order Alfred has established. He was rather irate as he immediately put blame on a certain woman who was recently condemned to the island, Claire, ever since their encounter. Now it was just himself, the intruders and the numerous zombified personnel or prisoners also on the island. It was the dead of night and Alfred wasn't too far from the training grounds for the guards, he looked down the sights of his sniper rifle before taking pot shots at a few of the roaming infected. He even mumbled aloud as he took a moment to reload
"Hmph..those fools dare attack my lovely island, one of Umbrella's finest facilities. No matter, in due time I'll see you again, my dear Alexia."
He presented himself much like royalty and even dressed the part. His short blonde hair was combed back and he wore a red British military suit with yellow trims on the shoulders. He tried to keep his sadism in check while thinking more about his sister in the meantime. He'd soon leave the area and begin making his way toward the private residence only for the Ashfords well beyond the premises of the military section of the island
