Alfis is a skin in Piggy. He is the bot and main antagonist of Sewers - Chapter 5, as well as the first skin that was added with that chapter. He is also presumably referenced in Ship - Chapter 8 and reappears on-screen in the Hidden Ending cutscene as a minor antagonist.

Alfis (Purple) is his only alternate skin, and it can be obtained through completing the Daily Skin Quests.

Appearance

AlfisFuture Alfis is a parsley green alligator with eyelids, a lime-colored lower jaw, circular dark green spots on his head, and a long snout with a visible mouth colored red on the inside. He has circular nostrils, and stripes above his mouth, as well as white, sharp teeth. He has a long, spiky reptilian tail behind him. He has black sclera and orange pupils in both of his eyes, and his eyebrows point downwards, displaying an angry facial expression. He wears a dark brown coat with a light brown shirt underneath, brown pants and a brown fedora. He wields an old, brown, rusty pipe as his weapon. AlfisPurple The outfit of Alfis' recolored alternate skin, is the only aspect that differentiates it from his base design. Instead of shades of brown for his hat, jacket, shirt, and pants, they are now colored in shades of purple (except the shirt, which is now a grayish-white). Additionally, the bits of rust on his metal pipe that were black now appear purple. AlfisHuntRender His appearance is mostly similar to the base game, but more refined. Unlike the original, he now wears dark brown shoes, a coat with lapels, a collared shirt with buttons, and a fedora featuring a light brown stripe above the brim.

History

Pre-Infection

Little is known about Alfis’s life prior to or during the initial outbreak, other than the fact that he is an alligator.

Post-Infection

Based from his debut in Sewers , it is possible that he sought refuge there amidst the outbreak. As he bunkered there, various notes indicate he experienced a psychological decline, likely driven by isolation, the outbreak, or a combination of both. Initially, it's seen that he was exhibiting paranoia and expressed fear and distress of being watched. However, the notes shift into reverence to a presence known as "the eye." It is presumed that members of TSP encountered a corrupted Alfis, and possibly others, prompting them to flood the Sewers.

Remaining devoted, Alfis chose to stay in the flooded, quarantined Sewers, expressing that he wishes to summon 'it.' Later, after TSP imprisons The Safe Place group, Player, Zuzy and Zee, descend into to the Sewers and encounter Alfis with gleaming orange pupils. Though he aggressively chases them, he fails in harming them.

Summoning

In the Hidden Ending of Lab, immediately before TIO places the Player, Pony, Georgie, and Zee into a trance, Alfis was summoned to hinder the Safe Place group and Monroe's forces. Following TIO's defeat, it is shown that Alfis was defeated by the military.

Animations

Idle

Stands while bending down a bit while spreading his legs. His right hand and leg are positioned forwards and his left hand and leg are positioned backwards. He looks to the sides every couple of seconds as his mouth bobs up and down.

Walking

Similar to his idle animation, but with his legs moving forwards while holding his right arm up as he moves his left arm back and forth. His mouth bobs slowly.

Jumpscare

He slightly opens his mouth and raises his weapon, stepping back as he spreads his right arm and tilts his head to the right. Then, he moves forward, closes and reopens his mouth, tilts his head to the left, and swings his weapon at you. As he does, his left arm moves behind him, his left leg steps forward, and his right leg shifts back.

Stunned

Alfis(Novels) Alfis' stand-in counterpart in the PIGGY: Hunt Novel. Looks up and puts arms down, with occasional head twitching (overlays the current animation).

Trivia

Alfis is the first bot to feature a new mechanic involving trap placement and player searching. All primary bots in the chapters following his debut share this mechanic, except for a select few. In Sewers, if Alfis is stunned, the message "Alfis will be back in 20 seconds" appears instead of the usual "Piggy is gone for 20 seconds." This same phrasing also applies to most primary bots following his appearance in Sewers. Alfis is the second reptilian skin in Piggy, the others are Dinopiggy, Tobi, Silzous, Jakayla, and The Jawbreaker. Among these, Alfis is the only one canon to the Piggy storyline. He is also the first fully reptilian skin as Dinopiggy is partially a pig. According to MiniToon (via an interview with Ant Antixx), Alfis was inspired by TenuousFlea’s “Crissy” skin and various images of alligators in sewers.[1] Crissy was based on Ms. Crocodile from Peppa Pig, making Alfis indirectly based on her. Alfis’ outfit design was also inspired by Indiana Jones. In the Ship ending cutscene, Willow likely references Alfis when she says, "I'd rather get to know a sewer gator than a dirty cop." Alfis originally had two unused animations, consisting of him jumping into and emerging from the sewage water. These were meant to support a mechanic where he would submerge and reappear, though the feature was never finalized. Interestingly, these animations can still be found within the files. MiniToon later said on Twitter/X that these animations were to be implemented for Port’s bot (Dakoda), but that mechanic was scrapped as well.[2] Due to his height, Alfis may struggle to fit through certain areas of the map. He is the first primary bot, and second bot overall, to have different footstep sounds. As a bot, Alfis shares his footstep sounds with Kolie. His footstep audio differs when used as a skin. Alfis is the first skin to wear a jacket/coat, have visible eyelids, and have an animated mouth. At the time of release, Alfis was the tallest skin, surpassing Mr. Stitchy. He was later outclassed by Dakoda and was the second tallest skin in the game (behind Dakoda) to be modeled by MiniToon only to be outclassed by Mr. Bliss. Additionally, he was the second tallest Book 2 skin in the game (behind Dakoda) only to be outclassed by ???. Alfis' official merchandise depicts him with yellow pupils, which may be an error caused by lighting or graphics settings that make them appear yellow in-game. He has the same cost as Zizzy and Doggy (Masked), costing 450 Piggy Tokens . In the Hidden Ending, Alfis’ idle animation is reused for Eloise, Mary, Porter, and Ben. He shares his jumpscare sound with Eelektra. This is one of the few skins to have issues killing the Disarm ability. There is a mistake with this skin's theme, in which it can be heard from farther away than many other skins.
