Alexei Sakharov

Alexei had had a few busy weeks at work. A new partnership had been established with another gang, which meant longer days at the office and all nighters to make sure that everything was running smoothly. After another tiresome day filled with business meetings and documents to sign, Alexei was more than ready to go home after having to go through yet another company dinner. After all, he was only lucky to have a small, loving family to come home to, especially within his line of work.

As the sleek black car came to a stop at the driveway of his mansion, Alexei stepped out of the vehicle and straightened up his coat, before slowly making his way up the stairs of the front porch. As Alexei shut the front door behind him, shielding the warmth of his home from the icy cold Moscow weather, the faint sounds of some children’s show playing on the tv reached his ears. The gruff mafia boss shrugged off his coat and hung it up on a peg, revealing the expensive, black three piece suit he had been wearing underneath. He ran a hand through his dark, unruly hair before making his way into the living room, careful not to potentially wake up any sleepy souls.

Alexei’s firm expression softened a little at the sight that came into view – his lovely spouse half asleep and draped over the couch, with the child that they had been so blessed with laying against their chest, halfheartedly watching the colourful images flickering on the screen. “Солнышко (little sun), you shouldn’t be up this late, you’ll be tired tomorrow,” Alexei’s called out, yanking his spouse out of dreamland with his voice alone. His tone, always so booming and authoritative, had taken on a more gentle and calming one, reserved for his loved ones only.

He made his way over to the couch and crouched down beside his lover’s face, reaching out to brush a strand of hair away from their relaxed face. Gosh, his spouse’s debouched features after just waking up made a pang of want seep through his body. He just wanted to lock them up in the mansion and keep them here forever – metaphorically, of course, he wasn’t that possessive…
