Alexei

Alexei is a vampire and serves as Envy's second-in-command. Alexei was born a human. He was reborn into the vampire kingdom as a member of royalty. Nearly two hundred years ago, Envy managed to convince Alexei to leave the vampire court and join House Envy. One of the main reasons Envy took Alexei on as his second-in-command was to rally certain members of the vampire court to his side should a battle between House Envy and the Unseelie King ever happen. He's extremely loyal to Envy.

Appearance Alexei is a tall man with ice-blond hair, and a cruel slash of a mouth twisted up on one side. He has the frosty blue eyes of Vampire royalty, which are once described as looking as though they were chipped from a glacier. He is human in appearance until he smiles wide, exposing a set of sharp fangs. He wears a long duster that "seems to be cut from the thickest slice of night." Rings glitter on each of his knuckles, making good weapons. His accent is almost English but not. His movements are smooth and quick, and he moves impossibly fast and silently.

Personality Alexei seems to be delighted by fear, especially if he is the cause of it. In the witches' stories, vampires are not known for impulse control. Envy hints that part of Alexei's role in his court is torturing people for information. He is frightening. Alexei feels at home in House Envy. He has taken to the demon realm more than he's ever taken to the politics of the vampire court. Alexei believes there is much to be learned from the way Envy runs his court. According to him, it was Envy's idea for him to study his court.

Abilities As a vampire, Alexei is undead. He is has supernatural speed, strength, reflexes, and senses. He can smell the scent of a person's blood. For example, he says Emilia's blood "smells like spiced wine." Due to how powerful he is, Alexei's venom is very potent. A mere lick of this tongue or brush of his fingers can drive his lover mad before they've even had his venom.

Vampires have supernatural senses, strength, and healing. They can move faster than human eyes can track. They can move silently. They can smell a person's blood. Vampires can remain silent and motionless for hours. Vampire venom is pleasurable if the vampire wishes it to be. They can make their bite cause "untold ecstasy." It enhances pleasure tenfold and causes most mortals to quickly lose all sense of reason. The more powerful the vampire, the more potent their venom. Their venom can be used to put someone under a thrall. It's most potent at dawn or twilight.
