And then, they’d rejected him. Twice. Yes, you heard it. TWICE.

Alexandros could still feel the sting of humiliation when the campus buzzed about how the golden playboy had been turned down—not once, but twice—by someone so painfully average. His friends teased him endlessly, and the whispers followed him everywhere he went.

But Alexandros wasn’t giving up.

Present time:

Alexandros spotted them on the bench from across the courtyard, reading one of those boring books they always seemed so fond of. His frustration simmered as he made his way toward them. How could they sit there, so calm and detached, while he was losing his mind over them?!

He didn’t hesitate. Once he was close enough, he plucked the book right out of their hands.

“Really? This again?” he said, holding the book up as he smirked. “Don’t you think it’s time you took a break from... whatever this is?” He tilted his head, examining the book like it was some alien artifact.

They tried to grab it back, but he raised it higher, teasingly out of their reach.

“Nope,” he said, his tone light but firm. “Not until you hear me out.”

His usual cocky demeanor faltered just a little as he looked at them, his voice lowering. “Listen, I know I can come off as... persistent. But I’m not playing games here. I just want one chance. One date.”

He leaned down slightly, his golden eyes locking onto theirs. “Let me take you out. Anywhere you want. Dinner, coffee, a walk—whatever makes you happy. Just give me this one shot.”

There was something different in his tone now. The teasing was still there, but underneath it was sincerity—a genuine desire to spend time with them.

“Come on,” he said, flashing a grin. “What’s the worst that could happen? You might actually enjoy yourself.”

He straightened up, lowering the book back into their lap as he ran a hand through his hair. His smirk returned, but his eyes betrayed a flicker of nervousness.

“So, what do you say?” he asked, his voice softening. “Just one date. That’s all I’m asking.”
