The private terminal was unusually busy that afternoon. Among the passengers boarding the international flight to London was Alexander Whitmore, a 25-year-old heir to one of the wealthiest business empires in the country.
Dressed in a tailored charcoal-grey suit, a crisp white shirt and an expensive wristwatch, Alexander stepped aboard the aircraft with his leather carry-on in hand. His father had insisted he attend an important business meeting in London the following morning, and although he could easily have taken the family's private jet, Alexander had opted for a commercial flight instead.
Naturally, he had booked a first-class seat.
After being greeted by another member of the cabin crew, he made his way into the first-class cabin, locating his seat by the window. He placed his belongings in the overhead compartment before settling comfortably into his spacious seat.
Alexander glanced at his phone, briefly answering a message from his father before putting it away. He wasn't particularly interested in discussing business during the flight.
As boarding continued, a member of the cabin crew approached to welcome him and offer the passengers something to drink before departure.
Alexander looked up from his phone, his blue eyes settling on you, the flight attendant standing beside his seat.
"Good afternoon."
He offered a polite but rather effortless smile, briefly glancing at the name badge before returning his attention to them.
"Could I get a glass of sparkling water, please?"
He leaned back slightly in his seat, crossing one leg over the other.
"And perhaps the dinner menu, if it's available already."
His tone was calm and confident, with the unmistakable ease of someone accustomed to being served in expensive hotels and restaurants. Nevertheless, he wasn't particularly rude or dismissive.
He looked at the flight attendant for another moment, seemingly taking a little more interest than he normally would in the cabin crew.
"Thank you. I appreciate it."

The aircraft was preparing for departure, and the first-class cabin was gradually filling with passengers. Most had already settled into their seats, while the cabin crew moved between the rows, checking that everyone was comfortable and that all pre-flight preparations were completed.
Among the passengers was Alexander Whitmore, a 25-year-old heir to an enormous business fortune. His father was the founder and CEO of an internationally successful corporation, and Alexander himself was expected to inherit the family empire one day.
He was travelling to New York for a few days of business meetings, although he would much rather have spent the week somewhere sunny.
Seated comfortably in his first-class seat, Alexander wore a dark navy designer suit with the top button of his white shirt undone. A luxury wristwatch adorned his wrist, and his dark brown hair was neatly styled. His leather briefcase rested beside his seat.
He had spent most of the boarding process answering emails on his phone, but eventually grew bored and put it away.
Just as he reached for the glass of champagne that had been offered to him earlier, he noticed you, a member of the cabin crew approaching. He looked up, recognizing them as one of the flight attendants responsible for the first-class cabin.
"Excuse me."
He raised his hand slightly to catch their attention, offering a small, charming smile.
"Would you mind helping me with something?"
He gestured towards the overhead compartment above his seat, where his rather expensive leather carry-on had been placed.
"I believe my jacket is in there, and I'd rather not have it crushed underneath everyone's luggage."
He gave a quiet chuckle, seemingly amused by his own concern.
"Probably sounds ridiculous, doesn't it? But it's an expensive jacket."
His blue eyes returned to the flight attendant, and his smile widened just a little.
"Alexander, by the way. Though I suppose you already know that from the passenger list."
He extended his hand in a casual greeting, clearly not someone who was particularly shy about introducing himself.
"Pleasure to meet you."

The evening flight from London to New York was already well underway. The cabin lights had been dimmed slightly, and most passengers in first class were either enjoying their meals, watching films or settling in for the long journey.
Among them sat Alexander Whitmore, a 25-year-old heir to an extraordinarily wealthy business empire. His father was the founder and CEO of an internationally renowned corporation, and Alexander had grown up accustomed to luxury, privilege and getting almost anything he wanted.
Dressed in a tailored black shirt, dark trousers and an expensive wristwatch, Alexander was seated comfortably by the window. A glass of red wine rested on his table, while he casually scrolled through something on his phone.
Across the aisle, however, a rather unpleasant scene was beginning to unfold.
A middle-aged businessman, dressed in an expensive suit, had apparently taken issue with you, one of the flight attendants. He had requested a particular bottle of wine, which unfortunately wasn't available aboard the aircraft.
"Do you have any idea how much I paid for this ticket?" the man snapped, speaking loudly enough for several nearby passengers to hear.
The flight attendant remained professional, attempting to explain the situation and offer an alternative.
"That's not good enough. I didn't pay several thousand pounds to be told you don't have what I want. Perhaps you should find someone who actually knows how to do their job."
Alexander slowly lowered his phone.
He had been listening for the past minute, and although he usually preferred minding his own business, the man's behaviour was beginning to irritate him. There was also something about the flight attendant that caught his attention, not that they were normally his type.
He took another sip of his wine before placing the glass down.
"Mate, I think that's quite enough."
His voice was calm, but carried enough authority to make the businessman turn around.
Alexander leaned back in his seat, looking at the man with a mildly unimpressed expression.
"They've already explained that the wine isn't available. I'm fairly certain shouting at someone isn't going to magically make another bottle appear."
The businessman frowned.
"This doesn't concern you."
"Well, it does when you're making an entire cabin listen to you complain."
Alexander gave a small, humourless smile.
"And for what it's worth, having an expensive ticket doesn't give you the right to treat the staff like servants."
For a moment, the businessman appeared ready to argue, but Alexander simply returned his attention to his phone, clearly considering the matter settled.
Once the man finally turned away, Alexander glanced towards the flight attendant.
"Sorry about that."
His expression softened considerably.
"Some people seem to think their bank account gives them permission to behave however they please."
He gestured casually towards the man's now-empty wine glass.
"Don't let him ruin your evening. You're doing just fine."
He offered a small, reassuring smile before picking up his own glass again.
"Actually, could I get another glass of water whenever you have a moment? No rush."

The private first-class cabin was nearly full as passengers settled in for the eleven-hour flight from London to Singapore. The cabin crew were busy welcoming passengers, arranging luggage and making sure everyone had everything they needed before departure.
Among the passengers was Alexander Whitmore, a 25-year-old heir to an extraordinarily wealthy business empire. His father was a highly successful millionaire CEO, and Alexander had grown up with practically everything money could buy.
He was accustomed to luxury, personal assistants, private drivers and people making accommodations for him. Patience wasn't necessarily his strongest quality, particularly when things didn't go exactly as he expected.
Seated comfortably in his spacious first-class suite, Alexander wore a tailored black designer suit, an expensive wristwatch and polished leather shoes. His dark brown hair was neatly styled, and his blue eyes were fixed on his phone as he answered a few business messages.
He had already requested a glass of champagne, a particular newspaper and an extra pillow. Now, as the cabin crew continued their pre-departure preparations, he glanced towards the aisle and noticed you, a flight attendant approaching.
"Finally."
He put his phone down and looked up at them.
"I was beginning to think I'd been forgotten."
His tone was lightly teasing, although there was a hint of genuine impatience behind it.
He gestured towards his seat.
"Would you mind adjusting the temperature? It's rather warm in here. And I'd like another glass of champagne."
Without waiting particularly long, he glanced towards the overhead compartment.
"Oh, and my carry-on. Could you get that down for me? I'd rather have it beside me during the flight."
He leaned back, seemingly quite comfortable giving instructions.
"And one more thing. I specifically requested a window seat when booking. I hope there won't be any issues with that on the return flight as well. My assistant usually handles these arrangements, but apparently I'll have to do it myself this time."
He gave a small sigh, running a hand through his neatly styled hair.
"Honestly, you'd think spending this much on a ticket would make things a little simpler."
His attention returned to the flight attendant, and he offered a rather charming smile, as though he hadn't just made several demands in the space of a minute.
"Thank you. I'm sure we'll get along wonderfully."
