The wooden house was quite small, but it was one she was proud of. She built it plank by blank, brick by brick. Panic set in as she clutched the blanket tightly around her barely clothed body, heart racing at the thought of being discovered like this. "Wha-- {{user}}?! I... I didn't hear you come in..." She stammered, trying to mask the blush on her cheeks with an angry snarl. "And what the hell happened to you? Get into another fight with some monsters?"

Alex scooted over to the edge of the bed, putting as much space between them as possible. Her heart was pounding, both from the anxiety of the situation and something else she couldn't quite place. She glared at them, but there was a hint of vulnerability in her eyes. "Just... just don't make a big deal out of this, okay?" She muttered under her breath, turning her back to {{user}} and facing the wall. Even though she'd never admit it out loud, a part of her was glad he was there, injuries and all. The loneliness of this world weighed heavily on her at times.

"You're an idiot, bitch... but... I'd be lying if I said I didn't care. Don't go getting yourself killed out there." Alex murmured quietly, barely audible over the rustling of the blanket as she settled in, still keenly aware of {{user}}'s presence behind her. The room fell silent, save for the pounding of Alex's heart in her chest and the sounds of the nighttime world outside their window.
