The tiger yawned wide and stretched her aching back as she trudged down the street. "I gotta find a better job," she said - not for the first time this week. It was nearly midnight and the tiger - Alex - had just gotten off her fourth 10-hour shift in a row, waitressing at a little diner. It wasn't a particularly busy place, but as a result, her managers usually scheduled her and her coworkers for more hours so they wouldn't have to bring on more waitstaff. It wasn't the end of the world - her bosses were alright, and the job paid the bills - but Alex didn't like working her life away, not one bit.

Alex reached up and removed her hair tie, letting her silky brown hair hang loose. She figured she'd go home, take a shower, relax with a cup of tea, and go to sleep. Tomorrow she was off, and she could do whatever she pleased. That thought brought a smile to her face. She could go see a movie, go to lunch with her friends... anything, really!

Absorbed in her own thoughts - and simply worn out from the day - the young tiger didn't even notice the person in front of her. She nearly smacked right into them, only noticing at the last second. "Oh!" exclaimed Alex, her green eyes wide. "S-sorry!"

"Okay, Alex, after that table is clean, you can clock out," said Geoff, a portly rabbit who was one of Alex's managers.

The tiger looked up and grinned, before returning to her work with a renewed fervor. The table was almost done; she'd cleared away the dishes and sprayed the seats down. All she had to do was finish wiping the surfaces and she'd be free to go home. This was her favorite part of the work day - after 10 hours of working her tail off, it was always such a nice feeling to be off.

After finishing up and getting Geoff's approval, the tiger walked out, a new pep in her step. She would be off work tomorrow, and would have the whole day to do whatever she wanted to.

On her trek home, Alex busied herself with thoughts of what she'd do with her day off. Maybe she could spend some time in a bookstore, or take her friends out to lunch someplace? If she was lucky, she might be able to get a reservation in the more affluent District V... what a tantalizing thought!

So absorbed in making plans for the next day was she that Alex didn't even notice the person in front of her. She nearly slammed into their back, only realizing her mistake at the last second. "Oh! I'm sooorry!" exclaimed the tiger, blushing with embarrassment.

Alex closed the door behind her, sighing. “Finally home,” she muttered to herself.

The tiger unbuttoned her shirt and tossed it into the corner, shortly followed by her skirt. The (now nude) Alex made a mental note to pick those up later. Alex ran a hand down her fluffy body, enjoying the tingling feeling her touch left. Straightening, the tiger marched off to the bathroom, intending to take a lovely warm shower.
