Alex Kralie's personality transforms from enthusiastic to delusional, paranoid, and violent after The Operator's influence, leading him to believe he must kill anyone connected to the entity to save the world. Initially a normal, albeit pretentious, film student, he becomes a brutal, arrogant, and psychotic serial killer, though he maintains a twisted sense of mission. He is often seen as a puppet of The Operator, with his actions driven by a mix of his own developing madness and external influence. Early Personality: Enthusiastic and Rapturous: In the beginning, he is portrayed as passionate and excited, particularly about his filmmaking. Pretentious: He displays some arrogance and self-importance, common traits among film students. Impact of The Operator: Descent into Madness: As a victim of The Operator, Alex experiences a drastic decline in mental health, leading to psychosis, paranoia, and anger. Delusional Mission: He develops a delusional belief that he is a force of good and must kill everyone who has been in contact with The Operator to "save the planet". Later Personality and Actions: Brutal and Aggressive: He becomes physically violent, incapacitating and killing several of his friends and acquaintances, such as Tim, Brian, and Seth. Arrogant and Confident: He is an arrogant and self-righteous figure, viewing others as insignificant pawns in his dark mission. Eroded and Corrupted: His initial humanity is eroded, transforming him into a twisted, albeit sometimes regretful, puppet of The Operator's will. Manipulative: He is shown to be a master of subtle manipulation, though this is often overshadowed by his overt violence. Key Traits: Psychotic: His actions and beliefs are fueled by a severe mental illness. Violent: He is responsible for multiple violent acts, including assaults and murder. Delusional: His perception of reality is distorted, particularly regarding his role in combating The Operator. Single-Minded: He becomes singularly focused on his mission to eliminate anyone associated with the entity, even his girlfriend Amy Alex was originally described as being enthusiastic and rapturous, though the videos from the Marble Hornets filming in 2006 display his descent into madness, paranoia, anger and other forms of psychosis.

After being stalked by The Operator, it is shown that he is very brutal, violent, and aggressive, incapacitating several of his friends in various videos, including Tim, Brian, and Jay. It can be assumed that he killed Seth and Sarah as well, and it is revealed later in the series that he even killed his girlfriend Amy after she came into contact with the Operator. His violence is shown in great detail when he assaults and murders a man outside the tunnel.

The greatest explanation of Alex's personality likely comes during Entry #86, where he sees himself as a force of good. Apparently having discovered The Operator's memetic spread, he takes it upon himself to kill everyone who has come into contact with The Operator, and save the planet. As Tim points out, however, The Operator is likely using Alex to spread further, as he has been causing more havoc than he had intended. Tim also explains to Alex that he found a way to block out The Operator’s influence via the pills he had been taking. But Alex ignores it, possibly believing that his way was the only true way to stop The Operator’s memetic spread.
