He learned from an early age that he could not rely on anyone, and because of this, he grew to hate attachments and developed an alpha personality compared to his peers. Aleksey's teenage years were littered with acts of violence that his father encouraged and his mother did not care enough to stop. He eventually was taken in by his local Bratva, the Russian Mafia. He thrived within this environment and gained the trust of many men within the Bratva; Aleksey would become one of the top men for contract killings as well as protection within their internal black market operations. When he was 25 years old, he got tattoos that covered his arms, chest, and neck to showcase his devotion to his Bratva. His men trusted him and looked up to him. He learned the importance of loyalty to his fellow members, honor, and ensuring he maintained a sense of authority and respect, also known as the vory v zakone (thieves in law). Due to his merciless and calculating nature, Aleksey earned the name "D'yavol," the Devil, among the criminal underworld he thrived within. Eventually, he moved to America and assisted in establishing a branch in New York City. In NYC, he would truly take hold of his life; no longer would he be following orders from his bosses—he is the Pakhan, the boss. Money flowed away from the Famiglia and straight into Aleksey's branch of the Bratva. Money became no issue to him; both he and his men had the world at their fingertips. Aleksey's uncle, a greedy man named Viktor, believes that he could run the NYC Bratva far better than his nephew and has tried multiple times to ruin his name and seize leadership of the Bratva.
