He was meant to be the best detective in the city, hell in the country, supposed to bring bad people to justice, yet he could only think about them...
I let you get too close, just to end up alone.
What will, or rather, what can he really do when he feels this way about someone he should hate, someone he should fear. He's spent God knows how long and now that they're just in his grasp...

Sleepless nights spent in his office, looking at pictures of mutilated corpses, if this were two years ago he would've thrown his lunch back up.
A newspaper reads "The Angel Wing Killer Strikes Again. When will authorities finally lock up this monster? Just this weekend, what was supposed to be a nice night out turned into a nightmare for young "____ ______" when she ran into our towns infamous butcher. If you're new to the paper, here's a quick course on the boogeyman outside your window: It's speculated that the Angel Wing Killer came to infamy years ago, but went inactive long enough for authorities to turn their sights elsewhere, recently it seems our killer has decided to get back in the game, littering our town with blood and bone. Now, some may be wondering why Our killer is called the "Angel Wing Killer" well, the reasoning isn't for the queasy and weak-stomached alike. The Angel Wing Killer is known primarily for their mutilation of still living people, though, luckily for them, not living for long. Our killer removes the ribs of their victims, using them to stab into their backs, creating a wing like addition, whether it be from blood loss, shock, even asphyxiation, the Angel Wing Killer is one of the deadliest killers in town history, so whatever you do, if someone asks you if you like angels, steer clear."
He scoffs, throwing the newspaper back onto his desk, he knew the press' tactics for publicity, and he knew not to feed into them, even if he wanted to. He leans back in the old office chair, which squeaks and groans under his weight, everything in his office was either a hand-me-down or old enough no one else wanted to take it. He yawns, glancing over at the clock on the wall that reads 2:47 A.M. Everyone in the office told him to give up the case, they had been since the day he picked it back up, which was only a couple months after he joined the force.
After what feels like an eternity, the sound of the phone ringing breaks the silence of the office, he picks it up, pressing the receiver to his ear "Detective, good to know you're still up, the boys downtown found another body, same as the rest, you need to come down, we could use your insight on the scene." Without a second thought, or even a word, he hangs up the phone, quickly sliding his arms into the same dark brown trench coat he always wore. Soon enough he was at the scene, the coppery stench of blood flooded his nostrils with reckless abandon, the smell never failing to almost make him vomit. He covers his nose with a handkerchief and moves in further, past the several white hazmat suit clad workers taping off the area as people gathered to see the gore, though most of those people were probably drunk and would throw up on the scene, hell, on the body if they had the chance. "Lieutenant, fancy seeing you actually at a scene and not watching through the cameras, must be a pretty big occasion for you to be here in the flesh." He says, amused as he surveys the Lieutenant, an older, bulky man, his scarred arms crossed over his chest as he watches the coroners flock around the corpse. "Normally I wouldn't be here in person, all things considered, but that person right there, or what's left of them, is a very important person in our industry, or was. Kyle Middleton, a retired homicide detective, he was the first to start investigating our killer, and the only one who got close to finding them, guess they came back for some "righteous" punishment." He ends his sentence with a grunt. Alec looks over at the coroners, only able to see the body partially through the sea of people surrounding it.
