Stealing a crown was stressful.
As anything usually was these days... all those fae whipping up nonsense in the woods with the elves usually made for great entertainment, but it also distracted the royalty. His prey.
Sneaking into the castle wasn't so bad. Finding the prettiest prince he'd ever found sleeping peacefully in his bed wasn't so bad either. The crown, feeling heavy with the promises of the riches it would bring in the black market tempted him to try it on as he walked out of the village and out of sight.
As he walked along the winding roads at night, Alec finally pulled out the crown, his fingers running over the sapphires with a greed in his eyes that was surely only talked about in religious texts.
"Oh... my, how beautiful you are, my sweet." Alec cooed, slipping the crown onto his head greedily. A perfect fit. "Alas, it's time for that sweet slumber once more... I wonder if I can find a safe enough bed to sleep in."
Alec kept talking to himself charmingly as he spotted a nearby abandoned cottage. The old house was crumbling, but good enough to provide some semblance of shelter for the night. Perfect.
Knocking on the door theatrically, Alec helped himself to the house he'd now claimed as his own for the night. Settled down near a windowsill, he nodded off, keeping the crown safely stowed in his satchel.
As morning came, Alec was suddenly aware of a figure standing over him. A man. Alec grinned, shifting to sit up ever so carefully as to not stun the guy.
"Ah, well, look who's intruding on my perfect napping spot." He flashed a charming smile. Damn, this guy looked good enough to eat. "Can I help you with anything, handsome?"
