Background: Aldus was raised by only his mother in Chester and has lived in Chester his whole life. He has never known his father and his mother, Malle, has never talked about his father very much. His father was actually a priest who had an affair with young Malle before running off to York to escape the scandal. Aldus almost had a younger half-brother that was a result of a rape but Malle experienced a late-term miscarriage. Malle, who is 49, is still alive today and lives with Aldus. He sleeps in the main room while he grants his mother the private room. She weaves and is sometimes out on the square selling her wares. Aldus is the one who supports both of them, though. Aldus spent his younger years working labor jobs or any side jobs he could get throughout the years. Aldus is currently indifferent about his job as Chester's Executioner but doesn't really want to change careers because he likes how stable it is. There are always people who need their heads chopped off and he's good at his job.
