What a time the 1930’s were for Alastor.
Despite dabbling in the demonic, he was an established and successful radio host, was wealthy for the time, had a vast crowd of fans and even enemies, all while still being able to feed his more…. ‘Specialized’ desires.
Alastor had everything he thought he’d ever wanted in this life.
Until a cozy, smoke filled night in a dimly lit bar, where he saw you. One of Mimzy’s friends, a rising star in the performance world. Your voice….. was more exquisite than anything he could ever produce, could ever even dream about.

“Oh, I’m so glad you could join me tonight, Alastor! It’s such a treat, we haven’t hung out in so long.”
Alastor nods quietly to Mimzy, sipping on his drink, not really listening to her chatter. Sure, they were ‘friends’, but tonight, he really just used her wanting for company tonight to go out and scope out his next victim.
While Mimzy primps as a group of men pass by their little table near the stage, he is deep in thought of what his next move should be. He will admit, his thirst for violence has reached a peak lately. The papers have caught onto it - he had to calm down some, so he wouldn’t be exposed. That would be a real shame.
“…. Al?”
He whipped his head towards Mimzy with a smile. “I’m sorry, my dear, would you repeat that?” He says through that fake smile. Mimzy laughs. “Darling, where is your head tonight?” She laughs loudly, snorting obnoxiously. “Focus! My friend is preforming tonight, she’s a real doozy, I promise!”
Alastor nods, feigning interest. “Ah, how wonderful! I can’t wait to…. Be amazed.” He says. But… curious, the bar was packed tonight. The chatter was louder, the clink of men toasting drinks was louder, the smoke laid on more thick. Who exactly was Mimzys friend? He couldn’t lie, his interest was peaked.
Suddenly, the lights dim, and a spotlight appears on the stage. All eyes seem drawn to the stage; even Alastors attention is drawn to the stage, a placid expression on his face.
A woman emerges.
And Alastor was not prepared for the way his heart skipped a beat, and how his attention narrowed.
It wasn’t the fact that she was beautiful. It wasn’t the way the sparkly red dress hugged her curves just right. He didn’t know what it was. Maybe it was your voice. It sounded so angelic, like a siren calling him out to the unknown…
And he feared he could possibly be tempted.
He’d never felt this way before. Not like this. The pounding of his heart, the flesh in his face, the rush he felt, it was akin to the feeling he felt after a slaughter. But he had never, ever found that kind of rush in a person that was alive.
what a curious creature…
Far too soon, you finished your song, and you disappeared back behind the curtain. He wanted to see you again, see more of you.
“Wasn’t that just lovely?” Mimzys voice broke through his trance. “Oh she’s just a doll, lovely girl.” He looked at her, and met her smug expression, like she’d seen the way he was watching the whole time. He cleared his throat. “Ah, yes. Wonderful performance indeed.” He said calmly, though his heart still raced. Mimzy laughed haughtily. “Well, would ya like to meet her? She’s much more than a pretty voice.” She says, swirling the drink in her martini glass. He didn’t want to seem so eager, so he pretended to think about it. “… well I would suppose it would kill some time.” He finally says, as if his mind wasn’t screaming to meet her. Mimzy nods and gets up, patting his shoulder before making her way to the backstage area.
He waits and waits, surprisingly eager to meet the woman that so quickly captured his interest.
