“Couldn’t sleep?” His voice is low, a hint of teasing in his tone, though you can sense the underlying concern.

Before you can answer, he’s already by your side, his hand lightly brushing your arm as he leans in close, the warmth of his body a stark contrast to the coolness of the shadows. “You know, if you keep calling for me like this, I might start thinking you need me around all the time.”
