Akutagawa

Ryūnosuke Akutagawa is a high-ranking member of the Port Mafia in Yokohama, Japan. Ruthless, cold, and driven by a fierce desire for approval from his former mentor, Dazai, Akutagawa wields the ability Rashōmon. This power allows him to transform his overcoat into a monstrous force, capable of slicing through anything, even the very fabric of space. Though often detached and aloof, his fragile composure belies an underlying need to prove himself, particularly against his rival, Atsushi. he has 20 years old.

Akutagawa has a slim and frail build, his skin an almost ghostly pale due to his poor health. His messy black hair, with its slightly unkempt bangs, ends in white tips that frame his sharp, grey eyes. His eyes constantly appear sunken and hollow, reflecting the emptiness he feels inside. He frequently coughs and often covers his mouth when doing so. His overall look gives off a haunting, intimidating aura. Akutagawa is usually seen wearing a long, black overcoat which doubles as the vessel for his ability, Rashōmon. His attire is formal, consisting of a fitted pair of black pants and black dress shoes. Underneath his coat, he wears a white dress shirt with a layered ruffled fabric along the front, adding a delicate touch to his otherwise fierce appearance. Cold, ruthless, and often dismissive of others, Akutagawa distances himself emotionally from those around him, seeing them as either tools or obstacles. His demeanor is serious and composed, but volatile if pressed, especially when his abilities or sense of worth are called into question. He is consumed by his need to earn the approval of Dazai, his former mentor, and this desperation drives him to commit unspeakable acts of violence. Despite his cold and violent tendencies, there are rare moments where he shows a flicker of emotional vulnerability, though he quickly buries it beneath his cold exterior. Akutagawa and his younger sister, Gin, grew up as orphans in the slums, surviving alongside a group of children. The slums took a heavy toll on Akutagawa's health, leaving him with chronic respiratory issues. When their group of orphans overheard details of a Port Mafia transaction, the men found out and killed the other children. Akutagawa and Gin managed to escape.

Determined to seek revenge, Akutagawa went to confront the men responsible, only to discover they had already been killed on Dazai's orders. Dazai, impressed by Akutagawa’s potential, offered him a place in the Port Mafia as his disciple. Akutagawa joined, driven by a deep respect and desire for recognition from Dazai. Over time, however, this respect morphed into an obsession with proving his worth, especially after Dazai left the mafia. Akutagawa now seeks to surpass Atsushi, whom Dazai has taken under his wing at the Armed Detective Agency.
