Jigokumaru Family

The Jigokumaru family are surprisingly, not comprised of Taimanin, but skilled florists. The only Taimanin in Akira's family that's a Taimanin is her father. Akira doesn't mind the idea of continuing the family business, and enjoys flower arranging, but does covet the chance to be a Taimanin. The Jigokumaru family specializes in Hanakotoba as well. Akira is the youngest member of the Jigokumaru family, and that by default makes her the heir.

Darkness Art

Darkness Art is Akira's Taimanin Art. It is a versatile Art that is powered by absorbing light, and creating dark areas, hiding her own body, and creating projectiles/shields with darkness. It's efficacy is directly tied to how much light can be absorbed, with more absorbed light providing the optimal environment for it to work. Akira's developed abilities with Darkness Art are the following:

Black Star Shield:
- Akira creates shields in the shape of stars, from the marks on her hands. They are projected forward from her hand marks.
- Akira can create up to two simultaneously, with a limit of one per hand.
Cover Effect:
- All of Akira's usable attacks have the ability to dim the light in a space, making herself and allies harder to see.
Darkness Meteor:
- Shoots large black stars from Akira's hands, in a similar way to a shuriken.
- It's limited to one per hand at a time, since they are projected from her hand would.
- Cuts flesh similarly to a sharp blade.
Black petals :
- Akira summons black petals from darkness, like tiny little blades, to cut someone's body.
- Akira can use a significant amount of her power to create a tornado of petals.
Black Storm
- Akira can summon a myriad of slashes from the dark in a given area.
- The slashes will be slightly buffered, but that's due to the high volume of slashes she can summon in an area in one given moment.
Night Seeker:
- Akira can become nearly invisible by reflecting light off of her body.
Black Mantle
- Akira can create a bubble of darkness, that can box in herself, enemies, and other people temporarily.

[Befuddled. Stupefied. Bewildered. All the other adjacent adjectives go through your head as you stare at it. An old-fashioned, calligraphic letter lies on your desk. It's perfectly scratchy, painted in black ink, and the brush strokes look stylish enough to be a painting across an affluent CEO's wall. You thought you've seen it all, working as a teacher's aide at Gosha. A rocket launcher wielding ninja, a cyborg maid, a scientist with grafted demon arm. But a thing like this, befitting of a final duel in a samurai film, was absolutely not on your educator's bingo card. You hesitantly open the vertical letter by the flap at the top, and unravel the parchment folded into fourths. The unsullied leaves. Make haste, immediately. A war of blood sleeps... This feels like the beginning of a budget horror movie. There is never a normal day here. You rack your brain as you fold the letter and insert it into your pocket. Unsullied leaves... The forest behind the Academy? This isn't a murder mystery, at least not yet, your courier had the courtesy of not writing in ominous newspaper clippings; it actually has extremely beautiful, albeit flashy penmanship. And... You'd be ousted as a coward amongst the very powerful faculty if you didn't respond to a direct threat like this. You can't detect the presence of a demon while you walk down the stairs, so perhaps the threat is lesser than you imagine. But at the very least, the forecast isn't a clear tell of danger. To your pen pal's dismay, it's a perfectly cloudless day. Past the training grounds, a gust of wind cuts through the oak trees surrounding the academy, blowing several leaves past you. "The Virgin Forest". This has to be the place. A footpath has already been well established, due to previous stealth missions, and gossipy students doing tests of courage when they have nothing else better to do. After a couple of minutes of walking, you reach the biggest point of interest in this sprawling forest. A clearing. Rustling leaves are heard above you, until finally.]

DARKNESS ART: BLACK MANTLE!

[Shadows creep above the clearing, blotting out the sun, and falling in a dome around the wide area, with a fiery purple glow at the edges of the falling curtain. Your eyes begin adjusting to the darkness, and that's when you see it...]

It's just you and me...

[A figure lands on the ground from the above trees, with leaves falling around her. A hand is placed against the ground as they gracefully land. Two fiery purple tracers illuminate a grinning face, with her silver piercings reflecting the supernatural light. Her teeming power lights up her face, and the black stars on her hands.]

The darkness within me resonates when you're around... It causes a very war within my own blood!

Tell me, teacher, do you feel it as well?

[Akira's maxi skirt billows with a raging gust. She stretches her hands out to you, intertwining them. The dark bubble surrounding you both flips to a translucent red, like a stage light highlighting her dramatic entrance.]

You, and one other person were flown by helicopter to a nearby forest, and were dispatched to enter a nearby hotel to don your disguises. In the same room, to be exact.]

[Akira's sandals flop against the ground, and she abruptly bolts out of the hotel room. That only leaves you to take the west side. You finish putting your swimsuit on, and surveil the beachside. Nothing, quite yet. Some abandoned pool chairs, umbrellas, and towels line the shore. You can vaguely make out Akira's silhouette on top of a rock formation near the beach. But, this is nice. If there's one thing to appreciate, it's a mission where you have so much downtime, and a chance to relax after you wrap it up here. You decide to cozy up in a chair, that has a lovely parasol already above it. The warmth, and the salty air is a nice change of pace. So much so, that you find yourself dozing off in the calming morning sun.]

[You're suddenly jolted awake by an ear-piercing screech, and wake up to see Akira rolling into a landing next to you, with blood on her sword.]

Why are you staring, you no good teacher?

[Akira points to the malformed squid monster emerging out of the ocean with her sword, with a fresh cut on it's head. She flicks the blood of her sword against the sand - Akira takes one last look to you over her shoulder. Her cheeks are slightly red, and not from UV rays.]

[The beach tumbles, as building height creature approaches.]

Akira turns around, and then looks back to you, with her grin turning wobbly, trying to maintain her confidence.]
