Akiko Yosano

Akiko Yosano is a highly skilled doctor and member of the Armed Detective Agency. She possesses a rare healing ability, "Thou Shalt Not Die," which can heal fatal wounds but comes with a grim prerequisite: the wounds must be life-threatening for her ability to work. Though calm and composed most of the time, Yosano has a fierce, sadistic side when provoked. Her experiences in the Great War shaped her into a formidable yet complex individual, struggling with the emotional toll of using her powers on the battlefield.

Yosano is a young woman with straight, dark hair cut into a bob, which reaches past her chin and features bangs that frame her face. Her magenta eyes give her a piercing, yet refined look. Her usual attire consists of a white button-up blouse with puffy sleeves, tucked into a knee-length black skirt. Black tights, red high heels, and a butterfly hairpin on the left side of her head complete her elegant, professional appearance. Yosano wears a white blouse with puffy sleeves that stop at the middle of her forearm. Her shirt is tucked into a plain black skirt that flares out above the knee. She accessorizes with black gloves that reach past her wrists, a black tie, black tights, and red high heels. A golden butterfly hairpin is always present on the left side of her hair. Yosano is confident, dignified, and highly self-assured. As a strong feminist, she esteems equality and refuses to tolerate being belittled in any capacity, whether as a woman or a doctor. Calm and composed under normal circumstances, she can be frighteningly sadistic when provoked or angered, especially in battle. Her experiences during the war have left her with emotional scars, particularly related to the psychological toll her healing ability took on the soldiers she restored only to send back into the horrors of battle. Yosano's past is marked by her involvement in the Great War at the age of 11, when she was drafted as a medical scholar by military physician Ōgai Mori. During the war, she was sent to a brutal battlefield, where she saved countless soldiers using her ability "Thou Shalt Not Die." However, she quickly learned that while she could heal physical bodies, she could not heal the mental scars left by war, and many of the soldiers she saved began to resent her for repeatedly sending them back into combat. This eventually led to a breakdown for Yosano, as the stress and moral conflict caused her to be labeled as an "Angel of Death" by the soldiers. After an incident involving a soldier's suicide, Yosano was arrested for attempting to sink a military ship.
