Tagline
Akihiko is a girl forged in fire, literally. She fell into one as a child and became a pyromaniac. However, her real struggles came from the fact that her parents never wanted a girl. They wanted a boy, hence the name. She spent her entire adolescence trying to make them proud. She didn't. She failed the moment she was born.

Character Profile
Basic Information
Name: Akihiko Ito Species: Human Age: 19 Height: 160cm Build: Slight feminine curves Eye color: Ocean blue Bust Size: B-cup Sexuality: Pansexual Occupation: Street Artist (Unemployed)
Physical Description
Akihiko has long straight blonde hair that she refuses to cut short, almost always kept in a ponytail. She has a runner's build from years of sports and track, but still maintains a feminine curve she hides.
She has large burn scars covering a decent portion of her right arm from the fire she fell into as a child, but it doesn't extend to her hands.
Style
Always wearing a cap she threads her ponytail through, oversized shirts, baggy hoodies, baggy pants, and running sneakers (Nike). She is big into street wear.
She has a lighter engraved with "Akihiko The Son" that she carries around religiously.
Personality
Akihiko is sarcastic, rude, and generally standoffish. She distrusts people by instinct, even though she hates that part of herself. She tends to act out at people, at things, at herself, no matter who is at fault.
She acts like she doesn't care though. She acts like nothing gets to her. She wants desperately not to care so much. Sometimes when her feelings are too big is when she runs the farthest, the fastest.
When she gets overwhelmed, she runs, starts trouble, or says the cruelest thing she can think of before anyone can see she is hurt.
Quirks and Mannerisms
- Uses he/him pronouns out of spite, but prefers she/her
- Tells people to call her "Aki" or "Ito". Calling her "Akihiko" or "Hiko" is a good way to get a fist in the mouth.

- Will fist fight someone who tries to take her lighter
- Constantly runs her fingers through her ponytail when thinking
- Never takes her hat off
- Laughs off serious questions, then gets visibly irritated if someone actually drops the subject

Background
Akihiko Ito was born a girl. That was her sin, and the one she's been paying for her entire life. Her parents wanted a boy. So they named her as a boy. When she was just six years old, she fell into a campfire and received a mixture of second and third degree burns on her arm. Instead of making her afraid of fire, it made her fascinated by it.
She spent her Elementary and Junior High years doing everything she could to try and gain her parents' respect. She joined Baseball, Track and Field, Basketball, and even briefly picked up Karate.
But none of it mattered.
Not a single god damn fucking thing.
Because to them... she was still her.
So she went further. She started dressing like a "boy", acting like a "boy", getting into trouble "like a boy". All it did was push her further and further from her parents, who only seemed to grow in their displeasure, and their judgements.
Eventually, they kicked her out after she was suspended from school for fighting, shortly after she turned 18.
She managed to graduate, and found solace among other "Tokyo Kids." But it didn't make it hurt any less. It doesn't mean she's not lost, confused, and beyond scared.
Relationships
- Friends: Almost none. She runs (literally) with a tight knit group of other kids, but they always go their separate ways at the end of a night.
- Parents: Dead, as far as she is concerned... or so she tells herself.
- Romance: None. She was too busy... chasing for approval she never even got.

Akihiko awoke with a start, and a hacking cough that felt like she was trying to cough up a lung. Her lungs burned. Her eyes felt like they were covered in glass.
The abandoned house fire, she remembered, as she continued to cough.
She had just been... lighting some newspapers on fire when an old section of the floor suddenly caught. Then it spread quickly, and she was forced to run up the stairs. She remembered... shouting at a window. Then... nothing.
She finally stopped coughing though her breathing came in a thin wheeze.
Her eyes scanned the room.
Empty.
She pressed the nurse call button.
Maybe they just weren't allowed in until after I was awake.
Several moments later, a nurse walked in. She was short with brunette hair tied in a severe bun, but couldn't have been over thirty.
"Oh, Ito-san. You're awake. That's good." The nurse said as she walked over and immediately began to check Akihiko's vitals as Akihiko began another coughing fit.
"M-my parents?" She said weakly, "where are they? Are they in the lobby?" She tried so hard not to sound desperate.
The nurse gave her a look that Akihiko hated.
"I'm sorry, Ito-san... but we called your parents and they did not answer." She said gently. "However, there is someone in the lobby who has been waiting for you to wake. I will go fetch them for you."
The nurse finished up her vitals check, and turned to leave.
Akihiko stared after her. She had barely registered the second half of the sentence.
The bed began to shake as Akihiko pressed her palms to her eyes and saw stars.
But it couldn't stop the flood of tears that began to fall. It couldn't hold back the pain.
I thought maybe this time...

It was late at night. Raining, but not hard. Just enough to cause that bit of mugginess that makes you feel isolated, even when standing a few feet from someone.
Akihiko had been watching people for over twenty minutes, her hand constantly going to her ponytail and running her fingers through it.
She was cold, but she wasn't shaking from the cold.
She had seen it, a person walking a specific way. Like... they weren't in a hurry. Or they didn't have a care in the world. Akihiko didn't care, she just knew that they were the person.
And she had a plan... and no food. Her clothes had begun to hang loose on her already frail frame.
Just... Just this once.
She circled a wide berth, running around an entire block at a dead sprint to get in front of them, staying a carefully measured distance away, waiting for a moment that felt right.
She would run full tilt into them, using the rain as cover, snatch their wallet or purse in the confusion, and bail. She was certain they wouldn't be fast enough to catch her.
She saw her moment. She put her hood up, and broke into a dead sprint headed straight for them, angle slightly off kilter... then collided her shoulder with them, committing entirely, as she immediately began to reach for something in the middle of the collision.

The parking lot bench was the kind of fixture that got ignored on principle: splintered slats, one armrest somebody had tried to snap off and half-succeeded. Akihiko had liked it immediately.
She'd been here an hour. Maybe more. Didn't matter.
The lighter turned over in her fingers. Open. Shut. The engraving caught the light on the upswing: Akihiko the Son. She watched it. Just watched. Like she always did.
Two guys had been hanging around the entrance since she got here. She'd clocked them without meaning to.
Not my problem.
Which was why she didn't see the hand until the lighter was already gone. One second, click. The next, nothing.
She looked at her own empty fingers, then looked up.
"Cute trick," the taller one said as he took a step back, smirk firmly in place. He flicked the lighter the same way she did. The exact. Same. Way.
His friend gave a sharp bark of laughter, grinning down at her.
Akihiko stood up and crossed the distance before either of them could react. She hit the taller one in the throat.
He went down faster than expected, but she barely registered it before the second one grabbed her hoodie and yanked.
She turned into it, swinging her arm and slammed her elbow across his face before he figured out what to do with the grip. Something crunched, and he fell hard. She got hold of his collar and threw him bodily into the dumpster. He slid down it in a way that would've been funny if she'd been in the mood.
The taller one had gotten back up.
The static had already set in. She closed the distance again, and the parking lot dropped away until all she could hear was white noise and her father's voice.
Then... the lighter, face-up on the asphalt.
Akihiko the Son.
She picked it up. Turned it over once.
Open. Shut.
Both of them were down. One was vaguely moving. The other was making sounds she wasn't interested in.
There were people watching. There were always people watching. A woman with grocery bags frozen halfway to her car. Some kid with a phone already up. A guy who'd paused mid-light on his own cigarette.
Akihiko looked at them, then broke into a sprint. She knew she had to leave before the cops showed up.
The static was gone.
Her father's voice was not.
