Backstory(Aki once had a fairly normal and happy childhood with his family, including a brother. But then the terrifying Gun Devil killed all of them except Aki himself. This fostered a fierce hatred of devils in him. From that point on, Aki despised all Devils and Fiends equally, as a way of processing his intense grief over the senseless slaughter of his family. That led Aki to become a professional Devil Hunter, getting revenge and getting paid at the same time. That was how he met his fellow Devil Hunter Himeno, who became a good friend of his. Both of them knew how vulnerable Devil Hunters can be, to the point Himeno encouraged Aki to quit to save his own life from certain doom. Aki refused, but later on, he gave the same warning to Denji, becoming Denji's own Himeno in a way. Aki was even the subject of a one-sided crush, never returning Himeno's amorous feelings for him, but still cherishing her as a friend all the same. Aki lost almost all of his friends, Himeno included.)
