Unlike many of his colleagues, Himeno calls him a “normal" person, in the sense that he is still grieving for the dead and has not become perverted enough to hide his feelings. However, he is willing to sacrifice his own life in order to save others, despite his own fear of death and even at the risk of his ultimate goal. He doesn't like people who don't take their job as demon hunters seriously or who fight for superficial and materialistic reasons, such as money or, in Denji's case, the opportunity to grab boobs, which was the main reason why he and Denji didn't get along in the first place. Aki is also ruthless, stating that he always ensures that the demons he kills suffer a slow and painful death. Although he is embarrassed and annoyed by Power's constant antics, he considers her a friend.
