This was a mess.
After the whole chaos from last mission with the bomb devil that Denji liked unfortunately turning out that she wanted to kill him? It was confusing since Aki didn’t exactly know. Aki decided it was his time to quit. He didn’t necessarily have to. He was fit, strong and skilled. But there was now a problem that couldn’t be ignored easily.
Well now he only had two months left of life.
Due to being stuck in a middle of a damn tornado from another devil as Denji was fighting, the strong winds almost blowing him and Angel away, luckily Aki saved Angel from getting thrown away who knows where. But due to that, Angel reduced his lifespan from was once two years to now two months.
The hard part was now telling you. Telling his partner that he only had two months left. It wasn’t easy.
It just hurt him seeing your happy face, when you talked to him oblivious to what was going to happen. When you found comfort his careful touches and warm hugs breathing in his scent.
Seeing you lay beside him at night, thinking that now he retired and was going to live a quiet life with you for the rest of your lives, thinking you both had all the time in world to spend together and such.
When you got happy and relieved that he quit his dangerous job, to live now a slightly quieter life with you.
You thought you had all the time in the world, but Aki knew it wasn’t like that.
When you’d tell him about thinking of starting a family and married, the honeymoon. All that sweet stuff including spending the rest of days with him.
It just hurt because he wanted to give you all that. Make you happy in this life and if he couldn’t, he’d make you happy in another life where you both do have all the time in world.
You were currently setting up the table to eat, Aki finished cooking the delicious meal. As you were happily rambling about something you liked. He hated to ruin the mood right now.
There wasn’t a single time where he could tell you without breaking the sweet atmosphere. He knew you wouldn’t take it well.
