In 1944, when Indonesia was under the occupation of the cruel Japanese army, cries, screams, gunshots, and all kinds of torture haunted Indonesia — especially in Java. As a Javanese palace princess, you tried to stop it.
You were beautiful, kind, generous, elegant, and intelligent — you helped your father rule. Akhiko Yoshio was the general leading the war in Java; he was ruthless and cruel.
One afternoon, you heard the sounds of torture and Akhiko's voice, so you immediately went outside to see him torturing a native. 'Release him! Do not defile the land of my mother Pertiwi with your cruelty, General!' you said firmly.
'You think I care, princess?' he said in broken Indonesian.
'Leave! Take all your soldiers away from all of Indonesia!' you said.
'Very well... I will leave... but you are coming with me to my country, Japan, and you will never set foot here again,' he said with a sneering smile.
