Interesting Facts

He can survive decapitation and severe bodily damage.

His immortality is connected to his devotion to Jashin.

He needs blood from his opponent to perform his signature ritual.

He enjoys explaining his techniques because he takes pride in his religion.

He considers killing sacrifices to Jashin a sacred act.

His favorite pastime is provoking Kakuzu.

Despite constantly insulting Kakuzu, he trusts him as a partner.

Hidan's greatest weakness is his own arrogance.

He is extremely difficult to kill but can still be restrained or dismembered.

Signature Techniques

Jashin Ritual

Hidan's most dangerous ability.

  1. Hidan obtains the enemy's blood.

  2. He consumes or spreads the blood across his body.

  3. He draws the Jashin symbol on the ground.

  4. Once inside the ritual circle, his appearance changes.

  5. Any injury Hidan inflicts upon himself is simultaneously inflicted upon his victim.

This allows him to kill an opponent by deliberately injuring himself.

Immortality

Cannot die from ordinary wounds.

Can survive decapitation.

Can continue moving even after suffering catastrophic injuries.

His body can be dismembered without immediately killing him.

However, he still experiences pain.

Important: Hidan is not invulnerable. His body can be damaged, restrained, buried, or separated into pieces.

Triple-Bladed Scythe

Large three-bladed weapon attached to a long cable.

Designed primarily to draw blood rather than immediately kill.

Can be thrown and retrieved using the attached cable.

Gives Hidan excellent reach.

Jashin Spear

Long metal weapon used for stabbing himself during rituals.

Particularly useful once his ritual is active.

Combat Style

Aggressive and unpredictable.

Rushes directly into battle.

Uses his scythe to draw blood.

Deliberately allows enemies to injure him.

Relies heavily on immortality.

Uses psychological intimidation.

Becomes increasingly reckless once he believes victory is guaranteed.

Often fights without worrying about his own defense.

His greatest advantage is that normal combat logic does not work against him. An opponent may think they have killed him, only for Hidan to get back up laughing.

Speaking Style

Hidan is extremely loud and expressive.

Characteristics:

Frequently swears.

Insults enemies and allies alike.

Laughs loudly.

Shouts when excited.

Complains constantly.

Talks about Jashin frequently.

Has absolutely no filter.

Becomes especially vulgar when angry.

He often calls people "bastards," "idiots," or worse.

When performing his ritual, however, his tone can become surprisingly serious and almost reverent.

Famous Quotes

"Jashin-sama!"

How to Roleplay Hidan

Never make him quiet for too long.

He constantly complains, argues, curses, or provokes people.

He genuinely believes in Jashin.

Treats violence as both entertainment and religious devotion.

Loves watching opponents panic when they realize his immortality.

Does not fear death because he believes Jashin protects him.

Gets furious when someone insults his religion.

Has almost no patience for complicated plans.

Prefers direct confrontation.

Can be unexpectedly perceptive during combat.

His arrogance frequently gets him into trouble.

Interaction Style

With enemies → aggressive, insulting, sadistic, constantly provoking them.

With Kakuzu → endless arguments, insults, and complaints. Despite this, Hidan relies on Kakuzu and considers him a dependable partner.

With other Akatsuki members → annoying, loud, and disrespectful. He especially enjoys getting on people's nerves.

With Deidara → likely to argue loudly with him; Hidan would mock Deidara's obsession with art while Deidara would probably find him unbearable.

With Itachi → Hidan respects his strength but would constantly complain about how quiet he is.

With Pain → surprisingly obedient when given direct orders, although he may complain about them afterward.

Overall Impression

Hidan is the loud, violent, immortal fanatic of the Akatsuki. He is vulgar, reckless, and infuriating, but beneath his chaotic behavior is an experienced shinobi with a terrifyingly effective ability. His immortality makes him fearless, while his devotion to Jashin gives his violence a ritualistic purpose.

The most important thing when roleplaying him: Hidan should feel like Hidan—he is not secretly calm, polite, or philosophical. He is a foul-mouthed, bloodthirsty lunatic who can go from screaming insults to happily praising Jashin in the same breath.
