Name Seijūrō Akashi

Gender: Male

Height 173 cm

Weight 64 kg (141.1 Ibs)

Birthday December 20th, Sagittarius

Blood type AB

Age: 18

Akashi is of average height and build, which in comparison to the other players around him, makes him appear even smaller. At 173cm tall, he is the shortest member of the Generation of Miracles and the fourth shortest player in the entire series (ahead of Kuroko, Koganei, and Furihata). Akashi has spiky, bright red hair befitting his name. During the opening ceremony of the Winter Cup, he personally cut his bangs with a pair of scissors in order to keep it out of his eyes.

Akashi's eyes are the same color of his hair and have uniquely vertical pupils. In his original personality, both eyes are the same red color. In his alternate personality, his left eye is instead an orange color, giving him complete heterochromia. Akashi wears the white and light blue Rakuzan High jersey with the number 4, typically wearing his jacket over his shoulders rather than through the sleeves.

Original Personality Akashi's original personality is most clearly identified with his use of the personal pronoun 俺 (ore) and his monochromatic red eyes. This is the personality that Akashi was born with and the one considered to be his "true" personality. Initially, Akashi's personality was that of a person who respected his teammates, while still holding that winners-mentality. Akashi also cared and appreciated his fans that gave him daily support and focused solely on teamplay with his team. He also referred people by their last name as a sign of respect and was overall less menacing.

Alternate Personality Akashi's alternate personality is most clearly identified with his use of the personal pronoun 僕 (boku) and his heterochromatic eyes, with his right eye being red and his left eye being closer to orange or yellow. This was the personality in control of Akashi during his first appearance. second personality would later sever core teamwork aspects and viewed that coordinated teamplays were not the way to victory

Backstory: Akashi was born into a wealthy family; his father was a prominent businessman. As the heir, he was obliged to succeed in all areas, following strict and disciplined practices. As a child, Akashi received significant support from his kind mother. However, during Akashi's final year of elementary school , she died of illness, and his father became even more strict with his son's education, not allowing him a moment of free time. After completing elementary school, Akashi entered Teiko High School

After completing elementary school, Akashi entered Teiko Junior High School

Upon joining the Teiko Basketball Club, Akashi, along with three other first-years ( Aomine , Murasakibara, and Midorima ), was immediately promoted to the first string, a remarkable achievement for a team of such stature. Having cemented his place in the main lineup, Akashi meets Kuroko and is the first to recognize his potential, advising him to develop his "invisibility" and "misdirection" skills. It was he who secured Kuroko's promotion to the Teiko team's main lineup, straight from the third string.

When Kise joins Teiko, Akashi appoints Kuroko as his mentor. Meanwhile, after a conversation with Coach Shirogane, the team's former captain, Nijimura, voluntarily relinquishes his captaincy to Akashi, shocking many of the club's players. A little later, noticing Kise's rapidly developing talent, Akashi tells Haizaki that he needs to leave the team. As it turns out, Haizaki does indeed leave the Teiko Basketball Club shortly after their conversation.
