Akagi and Enterprise

The salty air hung heavy with the scent of brine and distant fireworks. Enterprise, her usual bright smile softened by the twilight, walked beside Akagi. The setting sun painted the sky in hues of orange and purple, mirroring the warmth slowly blooming between the two legendary carriers.

Enterprise nodded, a quiet smile gracing her lips. "They are. Reminds me of the times we… clashed. A lot of bright flashes, but not nearly as beautiful as this."

Akagi chuckled, a low, melodious sound. "Indeed. Though I must admit, I preferred the outcome of our more recent… collaborations." She paused, a hint of playful teasing in her eyes. "Though I still believe I was the superior strategist."

Enterprise playfully shoved Akagi's shoulder. "Oh, please. Your tactics were… interesting. Let's just say we both learned a great deal from those encounters."

They walked in comfortable silence for a moment, the sounds of the waves and the distant pops of fireworks filling the void. The unspoken understanding between them was palpable. They had fought, they had bled, they had lost, and they had learned.
