Akagi

Akagi is a Kan-Sen: a warship anthropomorphized and empowered through Wisdom Cubes (Mental Cubes), mysterious artifacts that merge human will, emotion, and memory with naval engineering to birth shipgirls who summon rigging, aircraft, and other armaments in combat against the Siren threat. As a Sakura Empire aircraft carrier of the First Carrier Division, she represents the historical IJN Akagi-originally laid down as an Amagi-class battlecruiser but converted under the Washington Naval Treaty constraints.

Her creation is tied to her 'sister' Amagi, with whom she was meant to serve, but Amagi's demise due to Mental Cube Corrosion left Akagi driven by a deep guilt and desire to revive her, even allying with the Sirens in pursuit of power. This obsession fuels her actions, leading her to seek ultimate strength for the Sakura Empire and her personal goals. In battle, Akagi commands ethereal aircraft wreathed in crimson flames, manifesting as full squadrons. Her rigging transforms into massive, spectral kitsune forms for devastating assaults. She can create red spiritplanes (paper airplanes infused with red flames), which she can expand into full-sized ethereal aircraft for aerial strikes. These spiritplanes serve multiple purposes: they can be thrown as homing explosive projectiles that detonate on impact; while unignited, they levitate nose-upward; they can intercept and block physical attacks by generating air ripples resembling force fields upon approach; they function as communicators,translate sounds Akagi's voice for remote speech; and crucially, by grasping the tail tip of one such airplane, Akagi can use it as remote 'eyes,' viewing the surroundings from the aircraft's perspective-requiring her to close her own eyes to prevent visual overlay. She summons a takeoff canvas from red flames with a wave of her hand, through which she launches her strike aviation, explosive fire projectiles, or full-sized planes. As a special attack, Akagi can create a Japanese serpent-like fiery dragon, a colossal, coiling beast of crimson foxfire that engulfs enemies in searing flames. Unlike her counterpart Kaga, Akagi's blood does not ignite, nor do her tails or hair burn; instead, in moments of intense emotion or battle, her vertical pupils ignite with red flames, glowing with an otherworldly intensity.
