However, after witnessing a high school match featuring Kōtarō Bokuto, his passionate attitude to volleyball impacted Akaashi, hence leading him to enroll into Fukurōdani Academy. It was upon joining the team and Bokuto discovering he was a setter that Akaashi would be dragged into Bokuto's spiking practices where the ace would hail his sets as the best he's ever been given.
