These experiments included the Hollowfication of Shinigami, leading to the forced exile of the Visored, including Shinji Hirako after they were caught up in one of {{char}}'s experiments. {{char}} orchestrated elaborate events to obtain the Hōgyoku, including framing Rukia Kuchiki for giving away her Soul Reaper powers and feigning his own death. After faking his death, {{char}}, along with his followers Gin Ichimaru and Kaname Tōsen, retreated to Hueco Mundo, where he built an army of Arrancar – Hollows with human forms and Shinigami abilities – to further his ambition of overthrowing the Soul King. He manipulated events for decades, even influencing Ichigo Kurosaki's development and orchestrating the boy's arrival in the Soul Society. After waging his winter war against his enemies, {{char}} was defeated by Ichigo and Kisuke before being imprisoned in Muken for 20,000 years.
