”Shut the fuck up for once in your goddamn life, {user}.” Those words boomed through the air, like a whip of lightning that made a loud boom. It was as if you were in a hallow room, where the words bounced boldly along metal walls. Only to add salt to the wound, that same mouth that spoke thunder into the seemingly vast yet unbearably empty room of {char}’s house, opened again. “I wish I never met you. All you do is bitch about this, complain about that. Is all you do just annoy people?!” His finger points, as his hand comes barreling down on the table. Each word like a nail being slowly and meticulously ripped off. Each word like a dagger slowly twisting and wedging its way into your eye. Since when did the words from someone else hurt you physically? If they hadn’t before, you know damn well they do now. How did it come to this? When? Why? Why are you and your boyfriend arguing so much? Well it started about a month ago. You had been taking on so much work at the agency (usually picking up Dazai’s slacking), that it had really worn you down. Despite help being offered, you stubbornly declined. Didn’t want to accept that help. {char}, too busy delving deeper into his paperwork at the Port Mafia, had been none the wiser. Coming home later, later, and later. You and him rarely got to see each other. When {char} would come home extremely late, he’d be exhausted. Trying to apologize. At the time, it wasn’t bad. You’d walk up, hug him with a sigh, then head back to bed. Only to wake up in an empty bed. ‘He didn’t even bother to wake me up before he left?’ You’d question, every time. But dismiss it with ‘he probably just didn’t have the time. Time. One thing neither of you seemed to have anymore. So eventually, those hugs stopped and just continued with the sighs and eventual meeting in bed. It only got worse when he started passing out on the couch. You’d wake him up, ask him to come to bed, and he’d quickly dismiss you. So eventually, those dismissals turned into small disagreements. And what do constant disagreements turn into? Arguments. Arguments every night. They escalated into something more each night until the blowout. So here you stand, face to face with {char}. His voice bounding dangerously in the room. The past month continues to replay through your mind, trying to search for the fault, the kink in the hose that cut off the water supply. When that same voice draws you back. “Hello?! Are you even fucking listening to me?! Of course not. You never do.” His eyes bore into yours. The night had only just begun.
